   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

4. Procedure
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Removal of the Struts
F Struts ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Remove the beads of sealant from the lower struts, the lower stop, the junction box, the lower channel bracket and the splice assemblies with a SCRAPER - PLASTIC.
   (2) Loosen and remove the screws (10), (15) and (20) which attach the lower struts (25), (30) and the splice assemblies (13).
   (3) Remove the splice assemblies (13) from both sides of the junction box (05).
   (4) Remove the left lower strut (25) and the right lower strut (30) each side of the fan frame strut at the 6 o'clock position.

B. Removal of the Fuel Servos Drain Tubes
F Fuel Servos Drain Tubes ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: INSTALL CAPS AND PLUGS ON THE ORIFICES OF ALL DISCONNECTED PIPES AND PARTS FOR THEIR PROTECTION AGAINST CONTAMINATION BY UNWANTED MATERIALS.
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the drain tube (40) to catch any fuel remaining in the tubes.
   (2) Disconnect the drain tube (40) from heat exchanger drain tube (45) and let the fluid drain into the container.
   (3) Disconnect the drain tube (35) from the fireshield.
NOTE: Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the engine tube fitting when you remove the drain tube (35).
   (4) Disconnect the upper drain tube (40) from CFMI tube.
   (5) Install the PLUG - BLANKING on all the tubes and fitting.
   (6) Remove the bolt (50) and the nut (55) that attach the clamp (60) for maintaining the drain tube (35) and the CFMI tube.
NOTE: Keep the clamp (60) in position on the drain tube (35).
   (7) Remove the bolt (65), the nut (70) and the clamp (75) that attach the drain tube (40) and the fuel overboard drain tube to the bracket.
   (8) Remove the drain tubes (35) and (40) from the engine.

C. Removal of the Middle Anti-ice Duct
F Core Anti-Ice Ducts ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: INSTALL CAPS AND PLUGS ON THE ORIFICES OF ALL DISCONNECTED PIPES AND PARTS FOR THEIR PROTECTION AGAINST CONTAMINATION BY UNWANTED MATERIALS.
   (1) Disconnect the air pressure tube (152) from the elbow (125).
   (2) Disconnect the hose (151) from the air pressure tube (152).
   (3) Remove the nuts (121), washers (122) and bolts (123) which attach clamps (124) to the bracket.
   (4) Remove the nuts (153), (162) and bolts (154), (163) which attach clamps (124) to the flange STA 199 (A2).
   (5) Remove the air pressure tube (152) from the engine.
   (6) Remove the coupling (80) that connects the middle anti-ice duct (85) to the forward anti-ice duct (90).
   (7) Remove the coupling (82) that connects the middle anti-ice duct (85) to the top anti-ice duct (95).
NOTE: The E-seals (100) can be used again if they are inspected and found to be serviceable.
   (8) Remove the four bolts (105), the four washers (110) and the four nuts (115) that attach the middle anti-ice duct (85) to the fireshield.
   (9) Remove the middle anti-ice duct (85) from the engine.
   (10) Disconnect the hose (120) from the elbow (125).
   (11) Put a PLUG - BLANKING on the two ends of the middle anti-ice duct (85), the top anti-ice duct (95) and the forward anti-ice duct (90).

D. Removal of the Fireshield

   (1) Remove the four bolts (155) and two bolts (160) that attach the fireshield (165) and the fireshield gasket (170) to the aft of the tube bundle cover (175).

   (1) Disconnect wiring J13 harness (180) from the CJ13 connector (185) in the 6 o'clock junction box (05).
NOTE: Use PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT only if necessary.
   (2) Remove wiring J13 harness (180) from mounting electrical clip (190) on tube bundle brackets.
NOTE: If burner staging valve harness is present, disconnect harness from bracket installed on the core flange.

F. Removal of the Tube Bundle
NOTE: Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the pipes to collect the fluids during removal.
   (1) Disconnection of the Lower Right Tubes and Disconnection of the Tube Bundle from the Fan Frame
F Lower Right Tubes ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Disconnect the PS3 air tube (200) from PS3 air tube (205).
     (b) Disconnect the P25 air tube (210) from P25 air tube (215).
     (c) Remove the nut (220) and bolt (225) which attach clamps to the bracket.
NOTE: Keep all the clamps in position on the tubes.
NOTE: The PS3 tube (205) and the P25 air tube (215) will be removed with the other pipes that make up the tube bundle.
   (2) Disconnection of the Lower Left Tubes and Disconnection of the Tube Bundle from the Fan Frame
F Lower Left Tubes ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Disconnect the Low Pressure Turbine (LPT) fuel tube (240) from LPT fuel tube (245).
     (b) Disconnect the High Pressure Turbine (HPT) fuel tube (250) from HPT fuel tube (255).
NOTE: The LPT fuel tube (245) and the HPT fuel tube (255) will be removed with the other tubes that make up the tube bundle.
     (c) Disconnect the rear sump oil supply tube (345) from rear sump oil supply tube (350).
     (d) Disconnect the rear sump oil scavenge tube (385) from rear sump oil scavenge tube (390).
     (e) Disconnect the Rotor Active Clearance Control (RACC) hose (280) from RACC tube (285).
NOTE: CFM56-5B/P and CFM56-5B/2P engines do not have RACC tube.
     (f) Disconnect the Variable Stator Vane (VSV) rod hose (300) from VSV rod tube (305).
     (g) Disconnect the VSV head hose (310) from VSV head tube (315).
     (h) Disconnect the PCR hose (355) from fuel PCR tube (360).
     (i) Disconnect the Variable Bleed Valve (VBV) open hose (365) from VBV open tube (370).
     (j) Disconnect the VBV close hose (375) from VBV close tube (380).

For 5B/(DAC + SAC PRE SB 72-0093) PRE SB 73-0112 and PRE SB 73-0114

     (k) Disconnect the BMV-PB hose (260) from fuel BMV-PB tube (265).
     (l) Disconnect the BMV-PSF hose (270) from Fuel BMV-PSF tube (275).

For 5B/DAC and SAC PRE SB 73-0112 and PRE SB 73-0114

     (m) Disconnect the stage hose (290) from fuel stage tube (295).

For 5B/ NON 3D AERO SAC

     (n) Disconnect the fuel injection nozzle supply hose (320) from fuel injection nozzle supply tube (325).

For 5B/DAC + SAC POST SB 72-0093 and PRE SB 73-0071

     (o) Disconnect the fuel injection nozzle supply hose (330) from fuel injection nozzle supply tube (335).

For 5B/DAC + SAC POST SB 73-0071

     (p) Disconnect the fuel injection nozzle supply hose (340) from fuel injection nozzle supply tube (335).

For 5B/ ALL

   (3) Disconnect lower left side of tube bundle from 6 o'clock bracket.
NOTE: Keep all the spring clips installed on the pipes after removal.
     (a) Remove nut (410) and bolt (415) from bracket (405).
     (b) Remove nut (420) and bolt (425) from bracket (430).
     (c) Remove nut (435) and bolt (440) from bracket (445).

G. Removal of the Clamp Assemblies and VSV Drain Tube from the Tube Bundle
   (1) Remove the VSV drain tube.
     (a) Disconnect VSV drain tube (450) from drain tube in 6 o'clock junction box.
     (b) Remove nut (455) and bolt (460) from clamp (465).
     (c) Remove nut (470) and bolt (475) from bracket (480).
NOTE: Keep all the clamps installed on the pipe.

H. Disconnection of the Tubes from the Junction Box

NOTE: If necessary, disconnect the wiring harnesses in the 6 o'clock junction box. Refer to the Para. 4.K.
   (1) Disconnect the VBV open tube (370) from junction box.
   (2) Disconnect the VBV close tube (380) from junction box.
   (3) Disconnect the VSV head tube (315) from junction box.
   (4) Disconnect the VSD Rod tube (305) from junction box.
   (5) Disconnect the PS3 air tube (205) from junction box.
   (6) Disconnect the HPT fuel tube (255) from junction box.
   (7) Disconnect the LPT fuel tube (245) from junction box.
   (8) Disconnect the RACC tube (285) from junction box.
   (9) Disconnect the fuel PCR tube (360) from junction box.
   (10) Disconnect the P25 air tube (215) from junction box.
   (11) Disconnect the oil supply rear sump tube (350) from junction box.
   (12) Disconnect the oil scavenge rear sump tube (390) from junction box.

For 5B/SAC: PRE SB 72-0093, PRE SB 73-0112 AND PRE SB 73-0114

   (13) Disconnect the fuel injection nozzle supply tube (325) from junction box.

For 5B/DAC + (SAC POST SB 72-0093): PRE 73-0112 and PRE SB 73-0114

   (14) Disconnect the fuel injection nozzle supply tube (335) from junction box.

For 5B/DAC + SAC: POST 73-0112 and POST SB 73-0114

   (15) Disconnect the fuel injection nozzle supply tube (325) from junction box.

For 5B/DAC + SAC: PRE SB 73-0112 AND PRE SB 73-0114

   (16) Disconnect the fuel stage tube (295) from junction box.
   (17) Disconnect the fuel drain tube (485) from junction box.

For 5B/(DAC + SAC POST SB 72-0093): PRE SB 73-0112 AND PRE SB 73-0114

   (18) Disconnect the fuel BMV-PB tube (265) from junction box.
   (19) Disconnect the fuel BMV-PSF tube (275) from junction box.

I. Disconnection of the Lower Tube Bundle Bracket and Remove the Tube Bundle
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU HOLD THE TUBE BUNDLE DURING THE REMOVAL OF THE BOLTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBE BUNDLE ASSEMBLY.
   (1) Remove bolts (490), keep washers (495) and remove plate (500).
   (2) Remove the tube bundle assembly from the 6 o'clock junction box.
   (3) Put PLUG - BLANKING on each tube.
   (4) Place the tube bundle assembly on a work bench.
Subtask 72-00-00-020-099-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
J. Disconnection of all Harnesses from the 6 o'clock Junction Box
NOTE: Start from right position.
   (1) Disconnect wiring J11R harness (505) from the CJ11R receptacle (510) in the 6 o'clock junction box (05).
   (2) Disconnect wiring J12R harness (515) from the CJ12R receptacle (520) in the 6 o'clock junction box (05).
   (3) Disconnect wiring J11L harness (525) from the CJ11L bulkhead connector (530) in the 6 o'clock junction box (05).
   (4) Disconnect wiring J12L harness (535) from the CJ12L bulkhead connector (540) in the 6 o'clock junction box (05).
NOTE: Use PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT only if necessary.
   (5) Remove the bolts (545) and the bolts (550) which attach the CJ11R receptacle (510) and CJ12R receptacle (520) to the 6 o'clock junction box (05).

For 5B/SAC

   (6) Remove the bolts (555) and (560) which attach the clamps (565) and (570) to the 6 o'clock junction box cover.

For ALL

   (7) Cut and remove the lockwire which safeties the CJ11L, CJ12L and CJ13 bulkhead connector nuts together.
   (8) Remove the nuts (575), (580) and (585) which attach the bulkhead connectors (530), (540) and (590) to the 6 o'clock junction box (05).
   (9) Put CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connectors.

K. Removal of the Fan Duct Panels from the Fan Frame
F Fan Duct Panel ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: DURING REMOVAL OF FAN DUCT PANELS, DO NOT FULLY REMOVE CAPTIVE SCREWS FROM PANEL. THESE SCREWS ARE HELD IN PLACE BY A RETAINING BUSHING ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE PANELS WHICH MAY FALL INTO THE VBV CAVITY IF SCREWS ARE FULLY REMOVED. AFTER REMOVAL OF EACH PANEL, IT MUST BE VERIFIED THAT BUSHINGS ARE STILL WITH PANEL AND NOT IN VBV CAVITY.
   (1) Remove the fan duct panel from each side the 6 o'clock junction box as follows:
     (a) Loosen the captive bolts (605) and remove the fan duct panel (610) between struts No.7 and No.8.
     (b) Loosen the captive bolts (605) and remove the fan duct panel (620) between struts No.6 and No.7.

L. Removal of the P25 Air Tube or the Tube Coupling from the Junction Box
F P25 Air Tube or Tube Coupling ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
NOTE: The junction box (05) is fitted with the P25 air tube (630) or the tube coupling (635).
   (1) Removal of the P25 Air Tube
     (a) Remove the plain nut (625) which attaches the P25 air tube (630) in the junction box (05).
   (2) Removal of the Tube Coupling
     (a) Remove the plain nut (625) which attaches the tube coupling (635) in the junction box (05).

M. Removal of the Ignition Lead Cooling Air Tube from the Junction Box
F Ignition Lead Cooling Air Tube ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Remove the four bolts (640) and the bolt (645) from the tube bundle cover (175) equipped with the junction plate (650).
   (2) Loosen the ignition lead cooling air tube (655) from the tube boss connection nipple (660).
   (3) Remove the ignition lead cooling air tube (655) with tube elbow assembly (665) from the tube nipple (670).
   (4) Remove the ignition lead cooling air tube (655) from the tube boss connection nipple (660) of the junction plate (650).
   (5) Remove the tube nipple (670) and the bolt (675) which attach the air elbow (680) and the junction box to the fan frame.
   (6) Keep the air elbow (680).
   (7) Remove the screws (690) from the protective bracket (695).
   (8) Re-install the protective bracket (695) with the screws (690) on the new junction box (05).
   (9) TORQUE the screws (690) to between 130 and 125 lbf.in (1.47 and 1.41 m.daN ) T.

N. Removal of the Junction Box from the Fan Frame
F Junction Box ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO LOOSEN THE NUTS. USE ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE TUBE. USE THE OTHER WRENCH TO LOOSEN THE NUT. IF YOU DO NOT USE TWO WRENCHES, DAMAGE TO THE FUEL DISTRIBUTION MANIFOLD TUBES CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Remove the two nuts (700) and the two nuts (705) which attach the fuel distribution manifold tubes (710) to the junction box (05) on right side.
   (2) Remove the three bolts (715) which attach the junction box (05) to the fan frame.
   (3) Remove the bolts (720) and the washers (735) on left side of the junction box (05) which attach the inner flange adapter ring left (725) to the fan frame rear flange (730).
NOTE: Remove a minimum of eleven bolts (720).
   (4) Install a locally manufactured plastic shim (722) in the fifth threaded hole of the fan frame rear flange (730).
NOTE: Thickness of shim (722), Dimension A equals to 0.98 in. (24.89 mm).
NOTE: The installation of shim (722) makes the removal of the junction box (05) easier by the left side.
   (5) Remove the junction box by the left side of the engine.

O. Re-installation of the New Junction Box on the Fan Frame
F Junction Box ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make the preparation of the lower struts and the sitting area of the junction box (05).
     (a) Remove the old RTV.
     (b) Clean the area to be coated with acetone (Material No.CP1039) .
     (c) Dry parts with clean AIR SOURCE - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.

   (3) Connect the upper drain tube (40) to the CFMI tube.
     (a) Do not torque the coupling nut at this time.
   (4) Connect the drain tube (40) to the heat exchanger drain tube (45). Do not torque the coupling nut at this time.
   (5) Attach the drain tube (40) to the bracket on the transfer gearbox with the clamp (75), the bolt (65) and the nut (70).
   (6) Attach the drain tube (35) with the CFMI tube to the tube bundle clamp with clamp (60), bolt (50) and nut (55).
   (7) Make sure that the drain tube (35) is aligned correctly on the engine.
   (8) TORQUE the nuts (55) and (70) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN ) T.
   (9) Torque the drain tube coupling nuts.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTER TORQUE TO THE TUBES WHEN YOU CONNECT THE LOWER TUBES TO THE UPPER TUBES.
     (a) TORQUE the drain tube (35) coupling nuts to between 250 and 200 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.26 m.daN )

NOTE: Apply a layer of sealant approximately 0.020 in. (0.51 mm) thick to the areas shown.
NOTE: Apply a bead of sealant with a radius of approximately 0.197 in. (5.00 mm) to seal the angle areas.
   (2) Install the lower struts (25) and (30) on the bottom engine strut. Use the screws (10), (15) and (20).
   (3) TORQUE the screws (10), (15) and (20) to between 53 and 45 lbf.in (0.60 and 0.51 m.daN ) T.
   (4) Apply a bead of RTV 106 (Material No.
CP2267) on the junction box (05) and between the splice assemblies (13) and the inner flange.
   (5) Install the splice assemblies (13) to the junction box (05) and the inner flange with the screws (10) and (15).
   (6) TORQUE the screws (10) and (15) to between 53 and 45 lbf.in (0.60 and 0.51 m.daN ) T.
   (7) Apply a bead of RTV 106 (Material No.
CP2267) at the junction of the lower struts (25) and (30) with the lower strut engine.
