A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate the flaps or the slats.
   (2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the flaps are fully extended (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Make sure that the MLG doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (4) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is on the applicable MLG door actuator.
   (5) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system has been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (6) Make sure that the access platforms are in the correct positions in zone 570(670).

4. Procedure
Subtask 57-51-15-420-052-A
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area as follows:
     (a) Use a SPATULA - PLASTIC and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to remove any sealant from:
  • The overwing panel
  • The shroud box.
     (b) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the fittings on the:
  • Inboard end of the shroud box
  • The outboard end of the shroud box
  • Forward face of the shroud box
  • Attachment brackets on the fixed shroud
  • Attachment brackets on the fuselage
  • The attachment bracket on the overwing panel.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the seals on the shroud box are in good condition.
   (4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (5) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) to the interface of the shroud box and the overwing panel.
Subtask 57-51-15-420-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the Shroud Box
   (1) Carefully lift the shroud box into the correct position in the wing. Align all the attachment brackets with the related attachment brackets on the:
  • Overwing panel
  • Fixed shroud
  • Fuselage.
NOTE: The correct position of the shroud box on the aircraft is controlled by the attachment points as follows:
  • The position of the outboard end is controlled by the attachment brackets on the fixed shroud
  • The forward and aft position is controlled by the bolt holes in the overwing panel
  • The up/down position is controlled by the rods on the inboard end between the shroud box and the brackets on the fuselage. These rods are set and locked at aircraft build and must not be adjusted.
   (2) Support the shroud box.
   (3) At the shroud box/overwing panel top skin attachment:
     (a) Install the bolts (65) (that attach the shroud box to the overwing panel) from the top surface of the wing.
     (b) TORQUE the bolts (65) to between 0.48 and 0.34 m.daN (42.48 and 30.09 lbf.in ) T.
   (4) At the shroud box/overwing panel forward attachment bracket:
     (a) Align the hole in the forward attachment bracket (68) (on the shroud box) with the hole in the bracket on the overwing panel.
     (b) Install the bush (69) through the bracket on the overwing panel and the forward attachment (68) on the shroud box.
     (c) Install the bolt (66),the washer (67),the washer (70) and the nut (71).
     (d) Do not fully tighten the nut (71) at this stage.
   (5) At the shroud box/overwing panel forward attachment bracket:
     (a) TORQUE the nut (71) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in )
T.
     (b) If necessary, loosen the nut so that you can install a cotter-pin.
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 57-51-05-36-030 COTTER-PIN (72).
   (6) At the outboard aft attachment bracket:
     (a) Align the hole in the outboard aft attachment bracket (91) (on the shroud box) with the hole in the bracket on the fixed shroud.
     (b) Install the floating bushes (90) into the outboard aft attachment bracket (91).
     (c) Install the bolt (89), the washer (92) and the nut (93).
     (d) Do not fully tighten the nut (93) at this stage.
   (7) At the outboard forward attachment bracket:
     (a) Align the slotted hole in the outboard forward attachment bracket (77) (on the shroud box) with the hole in the bracket on the fixed shroud.
     (b) Install the slider bushes (76) into the outboard forward attachment bracket (77).
     (c) Install the bolt (78), the washer (79) and the nut (75).
     (d) Do not fully tighten the nut (75) at this stage.
   (8) At the inboard aft attachment bracket:
     (a) Align the hole in the end of the rod (56) with the hole in the inboard aft attachment bracket (61). Do not adjust the length of the rod (56). The rod (56) is set and locked at aircraft build and must not be adjusted.
     (b) Install the floating bush (57) into the inboard aft attachment bracket (61).
     (c) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.
03HBD9) to the bolt (53).
     (d) Install the bolt (53), the washer (54), the washer(s) (58) and the nut (60).
     (e) Do not fully tighten the nut (60) at this stage.
   (9) At the inboard center attachment bracket:
     (a) Align the hole in the rod (47) with the hole in the inboard center attachment bracket (42). Do not adjust the length of the rod (47). The rod (47) is set and locked at aircraft build and must not be adjusted.
     (b) Install the floating bush (46) into the inboard center attachment bracket (42).
     (c) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the bolt (40).
     (d) Install the bolt (40), the washer (41), the washer(s) (45) and the nut (44).
     (e) Do not fully tighten the nut (44) at this stage.
   (10) At the inboard forward attachment:
     (a) Align the hole in the rod (35) with the hole in the inboard forward attachment bracket (26). Do not adjust the length of the rod (35). The rod (35) is set and locked at aircraft build and must not be adjusted.
     (b) Install the floating bush (32) into the inboard forward attachment (26).
     (c) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the bolt (24).
     (d) Install the bolt (24), the washer (25), the washer(s) (31) and the nut (30).
     (e) Do not fully tighten the nut (30) at this stage.
   (11) At the outboard aft attachment bracket:
     (a) TORQUE the nut (93) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in ) T.
     (b) If necessary, loosen the nut so that you can install a cotter-pin.
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 57-51-05-89-010 COTTER-PIN (94).
     (d) Attach the bonding strap (95) to the tag (97) with the bolt (98) and the nut (96) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (12) At the outboard forward attachment bracket:
     (a) TORQUE the nut (75) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in ) T.
     (b) If necessary, loosen the nut so that you can install a cotter-pin.
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 57-51-05-89-010 COTTER-PIN (84).
     (d) Attach the bonding strap (80) to the tag (82) with the bolt (83) and the nut (81) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (13) At the inboard aft attachment bracket:
     (a) TORQUE the nut (60) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in ) T.
     (b) If necessary, loosen the nut so that you can install a cotter-pin.
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 57-51-05-86-017 COTTER-PIN (59).
     (d) Attach the bonding strap (55) to the bracket (51) with the bolt (50) and the nut (52) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (14) At the inboard center attachment bracket:
     (a) TORQUE the nut (44) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in ) T.
     (b) If necessary, loosen the nut so that you can install a cotter-pin.
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 57-51-05-86-017 COTTER-PIN (43).
   (15) At the inboard forward attachment bracket:
     (a) TORQUE the nut (30) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in )
T.
     (b) If necessary, loosen the nut so that you can install a cotter-pin.
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 57-51-05-86-017 COTTER-PIN (29).
     (d) Attach the bonding strap (33) to the bracket (27) with the bolt (34) and the nut (28) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (16) Install the torque shaft 6206CM(6256CM) in the shroud box (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-45-400-003).
   (17) Release the electrical connector (20) and the brake pipes (7) and (19) from their attachment point on the structure.
   (18) Remove the blanking plugs from the hydraulic connector (8) and the adapter (9). Install the hydraulic connector (8) onto the adapter (9) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-11-917-001).
   (19) Use the marks made during the removal procedure to install the pipes correctly. Position the brake-pipes (13) and (14) on the shroud box and install the clamp blocks (4) and the bolts (3). Do not tighten the bolts (3) at this stage.
   (20) Remove the blanking plugs from the brake-pipe connectors (15) and (16) and their related adapters on the structure.
   (21) Loosely connect the brake-pipe connectors (15) and (16) to their related adapters on the structure.
   (22) Remove the electrical harness from the plastic bag and put it in position on the shroud box.
   (23) Attach the electrical harness to the front spar of the shroud box with the cable clips (2) and the bolts (1).
   (24) Install the clamp blocks (12) on the brake-pipes (13) and (14) with the bolts (11) and the nuts (10). Do not fully tighten the nuts (10) at this stage.
   (25) Fully-tighten the brake-pipe connectors (15) and (16) onto their related adapters at the inboard end (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-11-917-001).
   (26) Fully-tighten the bolts (3) to attach the clamp blocks (4) to the shroud box.
   (27) Fully-tighten the nuts (10) on the bolts (11) to safety the clamp blocks (12).
   (28) Install the alternate-brake servo-valve manifold (2614GM, 2615GM) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-31-400-001).
   (29) Put the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Density Multi Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06ACB1) or Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) in the clearance between the shroud box and the overwing panel.

B. Installation of the Shroud Box
   (1) Carefully lift the shroud box into the correct position in the wing. Align all the attachment brackets with the related attachment brackets on the:
  • Overwing panel
  • Fixed shroud
  • Fuselage.
NOTE: The correct position of the shroud box on the aircraft is controlled by the attachment points as follows:
  • The position of the outboard end is controlled by the attachment brackets on the fixed shroud
  • The forward and aft position is controlled by the bolt holes in the overwing panel
  • The up/down position is controlled by the rods on the inboard end between the shroud box and the brackets on the fuselage. These rods are set and locked at aircraft build and must not be adjusted.
   (2) Support the shroud box.
   (3) At the shroud box/overwing panel top skin attachment:
     (a) Install the bolts (65) (that attach the shroud box to the overwing panel) from the top surface of the wing.
     (b) TORQUE the bolts (65) to between 0.48 and 0.34 m.daN (42.48 and 30.09 lbf.in ) T.
   (4) At the shroud box/overwing panel forward attachment bracket:
     (a) Align the hole in the forward attachment bracket (68) (on the shroud box) with the hole in the bracket on the overwing panel.
     (b) Install the bush (69) through the bracket on the overwing panel and the forward attachment (68) on the shroud box.
     (c) Install the bolt (66),the washer (67),the washer (70) and the nut (71).
     (d) Do not fully tighten the nut (71) at this stage.
   (5) At the shroud box/overwing panel forward attachment bracket:
     (a) TORQUE the nut (71) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in )
T.
     (b) If necessary, loosen the nut so that you can install a cotter-pin.
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 57-51-05-36-030 COTTER-PIN (72) or AIPC 57-51-85-36-030 COTTER PIN (72).
   (6) At the outboard aft attachment bracket:
     (a) Align the hole in the outboard aft attachment bracket (91) (on the shroud box) with the hole in the bracket on the fixed shroud.
     (b) Install the floating bushes (90) into the outboard aft attachment bracket (91).
     (c) Install the bolt (89), the washer (92) and the nut (93).
     (d) Do not fully tighten the nut (93) at this stage.
   (7) At the outboard forward attachment bracket:
     (a) Align the slotted hole in the outboard forward attachment bracket (77) (on the shroud box) with the hole in the bracket on the fixed shroud.
     (b) Install the slider bushes (76) into the outboard forward attachment bracket (77).
     (c) Install the bolt (78), the washer (79) and the nut (75).
     (d) Do not fully tighten the nut (75) at this stage.
   (8) At the inboard aft attachment bracket:
     (a) Align the hole in the end of the rod (56) with the hole in the inboard aft attachment bracket (61). Do not adjust the length of the rod (56). The rod (56) is set and locked at aircraft build and must not be adjusted.
     (b) Install the floating bush (57) into the inboard aft attachment bracket (61).
     (c) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.
03HBD9) to the bolt (53).
     (d) Install the bolt (53), the washer (54), the washer(s) (58) and the nut (60).
     (e) Do not fully tighten the nut (60) at this stage.
   (9) At the inboard center attachment bracket:
     (a) Align the hole in the rod (47) with the hole in the inboard center attachment bracket (42). Do not adjust the length of the rod (47). The rod (47) is set and locked at aircraft build and must not be adjusted.
     (b) Install the floating bush (46) into the inboard center attachment bracket (42).
     (c) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the bolt (40).
     (d) Install the bolt (40), the washer (41), the washer(s) (45) and the nut (44).
     (e) Do not fully tighten the nut (44) at this stage.
   (10) At the inboard forward attachment:
     (a) Align the hole in the rod (35) with the hole in the inboard forward attachment bracket (26). Do not adjust the length of the rod (35). The rod (35) is set and locked at aircraft build and must not be adjusted.
     (b) Install the floating bush (32) into the inboard forward attachment (26).
     (c) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the bolt (24).
     (d) Install the bolt (24), the washer (25), the washer(s) (31) and the nut (30).
     (e) Do not fully tighten the nut (30) at this stage.
   (11) At the outboard aft attachment bracket:
     (a) TORQUE the nut (93) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in ) T.
     (b) If necessary, loosen the nut so that you can install a cotter-pin.
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 57-51-05-89-010 COTTER-PIN (94).
     (d) Attach the bonding strap (95) to the tag (97) with the bolt (98) and the nut (96) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (12) At the outboard forward attachment bracket:
     (a) TORQUE the nut (75) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in ) T.
     (b) If necessary, loosen the nut so that you can install a cotter-pin.
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 57-51-05-89-010 COTTER-PIN (84).
     (d) Attach the bonding strap (80) to the tag (82) with the bolt (83) and the nut (81) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (13) At the inboard aft attachment bracket:
     (a) TORQUE the nut (60) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in ) T.
     (b) If necessary, loosen the nut so that you can install a cotter-pin.
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 57-51-05-99-030 COTTER-PIN (59).
     (d) Attach the bonding strap (55) to the bracket (51) with the bolt (50) and the nut (52) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (14) At the inboard center attachment bracket:
     (a) TORQUE the nut (44) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in ) T.
     (b) If necessary, loosen the nut so that you can install a cotter-pin.
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 57-51-05-99-030 COTTER-PIN (43).
   (15) At the inboard forward attachment bracket:
     (a) TORQUE the nut (30) to between 0.55 and 0.45 m.daN (48.67 and 39.82 lbf.in )
T.
     (b) If necessary, loosen the nut so that you can install a cotter-pin.
     (c) Install a new
AIPC 57-51-05-99-030 COTTER-PIN (29).
     (d) Attach the bonding strap (33) to the bracket (27) with the bolt (34) and the nut (28) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (16) Install the torque shaft 6206CM(6256CM) in the shroud box (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-45-400-003).
   (17) Install the inboard brake-pipes (14), (15) and (16) as follows:
     (a) Remove the blanking plugs from the brake-pipe hydraulic connectors (17), (18) and (19) and their related adapters on the structure.
     (b) Put the brake-pipe and clamp block assembly (13) in position on the shroud box.
     (c) Attach the clamp blocks (9) to the shroud box with the center and bottom bolts (12) and the washers (11).
     (d) Connect the brake-pipe hydraulic connectors (17), (18) and (19) to their related adapters on the structure (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-11-917-001).
   (18) At the bracket (3), connect the hydraulic connector (2) of the brake-hose (1) to the adapter (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-11-917-001).
   (19) Put the manifold spacer (6) and the electrical connector (7) in position on the shroud box.
   (20) Install the alternate-brake manifold (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-32-400-001).
   (21) Put the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Density Multi Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06ACB1) or Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) in the clearance between the shroud box and the overwing panel.
5. Close-up
Subtask 57-51-15-410-051-A
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the upper wing/fuselage fillet fairing(s) 191ET(192ET) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-400-001).
   (3) Close the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (4) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the slat/flap control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002).
   (5) Fully retract the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
