THUS IT CAN HAVE DIFFERENT OPERATION CONDITIONS AND A DIFFERENT LIFE RECORD (FLIGHT HOURS/FLIGHT CYCLES/CALENDAR) FROM THE AIRCRAFT IT IS INSTALLED ON OR REMOVED FROM. THE OPERATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SPECIFIC TRACKING AND CONTINUED AIRWORTHINESS OF REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS. INCORRECT MAINTENANCE OF THESE COMPONENTS CAN CAUSE A RISK FOR THE FLIGHT SAFETY.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) in position below the applicable wing-tip, zone 534 (634).
(5) Remove the applicable access panel:

for the left wing-tip remove 534AB
for the right wing-tip remove 634AB.

4. Procedure

A. Preparation of the Wing-Tip Structure if it is to be Replaced
(1) If the wing-tip structure is to be replaced, remove:

the navigation light assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-11-000-001)
the strobe light assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-14-000-001)
the power supply unit (Ref. AMM TASK 33-48-38-000-001)
the wing-tip fence (Ref. AMM TASK 57-31-22-000-001).

B. Removal of the Wing-tip Structure
(1) Disconnect the supply cable from the connector (4).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Remove the grommet (3) from the adjacent structure.
(4) Push the supply cable through the hole where the grommet (3) was installed.
(5) Hold the wing tip (2) (weight approximately 20 kg (44 lb)) on supports and remove the bolts (5).
(6) Remove the wing tip (2) laterally from the two spigots (1) and put it on a suitable TRESTLE - PADDED.
(7) Prevent damage to the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
