WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

CAUTION: THIS PART IS A REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENT (RSC), WHICH CAN BE MOVED BETWEEN AIRCRAFT. THUS IT CAN HAVE DIFFERENT OPERATION CONDITIONS AND A DIFFERENT LIFE RECORD (FLIGHT HOURS/FLIGHT CYCLES/CALENDAR) FROM THE AIRCRAFT IT IS INSTALLED ON OR REMOVED FROM. THE OPERATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SPECIFIC TRACKING AND CONTINUED AIRWORTHINESS OF REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS. INCORRECT MAINTENANCE OF THESE COMPONENTS CAN CAUSE A RISK FOR THE FLIGHT SAFETY.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) below the applicable wing at the wing-tip fence, zone 534 (634).

4. Procedure
Subtask 57-31-22-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Wing-Tip Fence
(1) Remove the sealant from around access covers 534BL( 634BR) (7) and 534AL( 634AR) (9) with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(2) Remove the bolts (8) and access covers 534BL( 634BR) (7) and 534AL( 634AR) (9).
(3) Remove the locking plates (6) and (10).
(4) Remove the sealant from the heads of the bolts (5) with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(5) Hold the wing-tip fence (3) (the weight is approximately 11 kg (24 lb)) and remove the bolts (5) and the washers (4).
(6) Remove the wing-tip fence (3) laterally from the wing-tip (11) and put it on the TRESTLE - PADDED.
(7) If necessary, collect the barrel nuts (1) and (2).
