A. Safety Precautions
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
Subtask 57-27-11-650-069-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures when you do the work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001). (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the wing fuel tank at zone 540(640).
(2) Defuel the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(3) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
Subtask 57-27-11-010-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the wing fuel tank at zone 540(640).
(2) Defuel the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(3) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
C. Get Access
(1) Remove access panel 540BB( 640BB) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001).
(2) Remove access panels 521AZ( 621AZ), 521BZ( 621BZ) and 521CZ( 621CZ) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-005).
4. Procedure(1) Remove access panel 540BB( 640BB) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001).
(2) Remove access panels 521AZ( 621AZ), 521BZ( 621BZ) and 521CZ( 621CZ) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-005).
Subtask 57-27-11-020-056-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Closing Panels
(a) Remove the bolts (4) and the washers (3) from the closing panel (2) in a diagonally opposite sequence.
(b) Remove the closing panel (2).
(c) Identify the closing panel (2) with a label.
(2) On aircraft with post modification 26839 (solid alloy) closing panels:
(a) Remove the bolts (4) from the closing panel (2) in a diagonally opposite sequence.
(b) Remove the closing panel (2).
Subtask 57-27-11-020-056-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: There are two different types of closing panel. Some aircraft will have pre modification 26839 (composite) closing panels. Some aircraft will have post modification 26839 (solid alloy) closing panels.
(1) On aircraft with pre modification 26839 (composite) closing panels: (a) Remove the bolts (4) and the washers (3) from the closing panel (2) in a diagonally opposite sequence.
(b) Remove the closing panel (2).
(c) Identify the closing panel (2) with a label.
(2) On aircraft with post modification 26839 (solid alloy) closing panels:
(a) Remove the bolts (4) from the closing panel (2) in a diagonally opposite sequence.
(b) Remove the closing panel (2).
