(1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the slats or flaps.
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure the flaps are fully retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
(2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.

Subtask 57-21-00-010-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the flap tracks 3 and 4, zones 532 (632) and 533 (633).
(2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-001):

for the left wing, remove flap track fairings 532AB 532BB 532CB 532DB 533AB 533BB 533CB 533DB
for the right wing, remove flap track fairings 632AB 632BB 632CB 632DB 633AB 633BB 633CB 633DB.

NOTE: If you can see all the area to be inspected with the fairing access panels (532CB (632CB) 532DB (632DB) 533CB (633CB) 533DB (633DB)) installed, then it is not necessary to remove them.

4. Procedure
Subtask 57-21-00-110-071-A

A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to clean:

the bottom-skin lower-surface at the attachment to the ribs
the stringers in the area that is covered by the flap track 3 and 4 fairings.

Subtask 57-21-00-210-075-A

B. Inspection
(1) Examine the lower surface of the bottom skin at the attachment to the ribs. Also examine the stringers in the areas covered by the flap track 3 and 4 fairings. Make sure that:

there is no corrosion or damage
there are no scratches or scores
there are no loose or damaged fasteners
the surface protection is in the correct condition.

NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-001):

for the right wing, install 632AB 632BB 632CB 632DB 633AB 633BB 633CB 633DB.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-004):

B. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the safety barriers.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
