Subtask 55-46-11-860-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
   (2) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at zone 326.
   (4) Make sure that access panels 325EL, 325DL, 325ER and 325DR are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-000-001).
   (5) Make sure that the rudder support strut is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 55-36-48-000-001).
   (6) Make sure that the hinge arm fitting No. 6 is removed SRM 553642.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration

   (5) Make sure that the rudder support strut is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 55-36-48-000-001).
   (6) Make sure that the hinge arm fitting No. 6 is removed SRM 553642.

4. Procedure
Subtask 55-46-11-420-050-A
A. Install the rudder hinge bearing No. 6.
   (1) Remove the sealant from the rudder attach fitting with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (5) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the bearing (2).
NOTE: Make sure that the outer surfaces stay clean.
   (6) Install the bearing (2) in the rudder attach fitting.
   (7) Install the retaining ring (3) and the ring nut (4). TORQUE the ring nut (4) to between 6.3 and 5.7 m.daN (46.46 and 42.04 lbf.ft ) T with the 98D55307528000 TOOL SET - R,I RUDDER BEARING NO. 6.
   (8) Safety the ring nut (4) with the retaining ring (3).
   (9) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) around the bearing (2) and the ring nut (4).
   (10) Install the hinge arm fitting SRM 553642.
   (11) Install the rudder support strut (Ref. AMM TASK 55-36-48-400-001).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install access panels 325EL, 325DL, 325ER and 325DR (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-400-001).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install access panels 325EL, 325DL, 325ER, 325FR and 325GR (Ref. AMM TASK 55-33-13-400-001).
