   (1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in the flight compartment to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the hydraulic systems.
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 330 for the left hand torque box and/or zone 340 for the right hand torque box.

E. Access
   (1) Remove the THS leading edge (Ref. AMM TASK 55-12-11-000-001).
   (2) Remove/open the trailing edge access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 55-13-11-000-001).
   (3) Remove the THS tips 332AB 342AB. (Ref. AMM TASK 55-14-11-000-001)
   (4) Remove the peelable hole covers from the lightening holes.
4. Procedure
Subtask 55-10-00-210-052-A
A. Detailed Inspection
   (1) Make a detailed inspection of the horizontal stabilizer internal structure
of the torque box outboard of fuselage fairings, thru the lightening holes, for:
  • deterioration of the structure,
  • stringer debonding and delamination,
  • rib shear ties debonding,
  • spar flanges debonding.
   (2) If damage is found, look for allowable damage limits SRM 551100.
5. Close-up

A. Visual Inspection
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. Close Access
   (1) Installation of the peelable hole covers.
     (a) For each lightening hole, cut a piece of Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) with 20 mm (0.7874 in.) of excess of the hole dimension to make the peelable hole covers.
     (b) Clean the adjacent area of the lightening holes with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) until contamination is removed. Do not let cleaning agent dry on the surfaces.
     (c) Install the peelable hole covers on the lightening holes.
   (2) Install/close the trailing edge access panels. (Ref. AMM TASK 55-13-11-400-001)
   (3) Install the THS leading edge (Ref. AMM TASK 55-12-11-400-001).
   (4) Install the THS tips 332AB 342AB. (Ref. AMM TASK 55-14-11-400-001).

C. Remove Ground Equipment
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).

D. Remove Locking Devices
   (1) Remove the 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING from the CAPT and F/O side stick controllers.
