WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING is in the CAPT and F/O side stick controllers.
   (3) Make sure that the warning notices are in the flight compartment to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
   (4) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to operate the hydraulic systems.
   (5) Make sure that the access platforms are in position at zone 332 and/or zone 342.

4. Procedure
Subtask 55-14-11-110-051-A
A. Prepare the Tips for Installation
   (1) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC to remove the old sealant from the mating surfaces of the tip, the rib and the upper and the lower shell.
   (2) Use Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Naphta based and Alcohol - (Material No.08BBC1) and clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to clean the component and the interface
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the THS Tips 332AB (342AB)
NOTE: The installation of the left tip 332AB is shown. The installation of the right tip 342AB is the same.
   (1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) to the mating surfaces of the tip, the rib and the upper and lower shell.
   (2) Apply Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) to the mating surfaces of the tip.
   (3) Put the tip (2) in position on the THS.
   (4) Install the screws (1) and tighten.

C. Sealing
   (1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the gap around the tip.

D. Install the Static Discharger
   (1) Install the static discharger (Ref. AMM TASK 23-61-41-400-001).

A. Visual Inspection
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

   (1) Remove the access platform(s).
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

C. Remove Locking Devices
   (1) Remove the 98D27903500000 PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING from the CAPT and F/O side stick controllers.
