WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
THE CARTRIDGE IS AN EXPLOSIVE DEVICE. REMOVE IT BEFORE YOU DISASSEMBLE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE.
TO PREVENT INJURY TO THE PERSONNEL BECAUSE OF THE EXPLOSION OF THE CARTRIDGE IF IT HAS NOT BEEN FIRED:
- INSTALL A SHUNT DEVICE.
- THIS WILL SHUNT THE PINS TOGETHER ON THE CARTRIDGE BEFORE ITS REMOVAL.
WARNING:
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE A FULL FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLE. A SUDDEN OR HEAVY SHOCK TO A FULL BOTTLE CAN CAUSE UNWANTED DISCHARGE AND INJURY TO PERSONS.
WARNING:
IF YOU REMOVE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER BOTTLES IN A CLOSED HANGAR, MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A FLOW OF NEW AIR IN THE HANGAR.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 54-51-63-865-050-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-51-63-010-050-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
(1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). D. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Open the thrust-reverser cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

E. Removal of the Components
(1) Remove the engine fire-extinguisher bottles (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).

A. Removal of the Supports of the Engine Fire-Extinguisher Bottles
(2) Remove the bolts (8) and the washers (7).
(3) Remove the clamp (6) from the bracket (1).
(4) Hold the bracket (1) that is installed on RIB6 of the pylon box.
(5) Remove the nuts (9) and the bolts (2) and (5).
(6) Remove the nuts (10) and the bolts (3) and (4).
(7) Remove the bracket (1) from RIB6 of the pylon box.
(8) Hold the clamp (12) that is installed on the bracket (11).
(9) Remove the bolts (14) and the washers (13).
(10) Disengage the clamp (12) from the bracket (11).
(11) Hold the bracket (11) that is installed on RIB7 of the pylon box.
(12) Remove the nuts (19) and the bolts (15) and (18).
(13) Remove the nuts (20) and the bolts (16) and (17).
(14) Remove the bracket (11) from RIB7 of the pylon box.
(15) Hold the bracket (21) that is installed on RIB8 of the pylon box.
(16) Remove the nuts (24) and the bolts (22).
(17) Remove the nuts (25) and the bolts (23).
(18) Remove the bracket (21) from RIB8 of the pylon box.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU RECORD THE CORRECT POSITION OF EACH OF THEM. THE SCREWS HAVE DIFFERENT LENGTHS.
(1) Hold the clamp (6) that is installed on the bracket (1). (2) Remove the bolts (8) and the washers (7).
(3) Remove the clamp (6) from the bracket (1).
(4) Hold the bracket (1) that is installed on RIB6 of the pylon box.
(5) Remove the nuts (9) and the bolts (2) and (5).
(6) Remove the nuts (10) and the bolts (3) and (4).
(7) Remove the bracket (1) from RIB6 of the pylon box.
(8) Hold the clamp (12) that is installed on the bracket (11).
(9) Remove the bolts (14) and the washers (13).
(10) Disengage the clamp (12) from the bracket (11).
(11) Hold the bracket (11) that is installed on RIB7 of the pylon box.
(12) Remove the nuts (19) and the bolts (15) and (18).
(13) Remove the nuts (20) and the bolts (16) and (17).
(14) Remove the bracket (11) from RIB7 of the pylon box.
(15) Hold the bracket (21) that is installed on RIB8 of the pylon box.
(16) Remove the nuts (24) and the bolts (22).
(17) Remove the nuts (25) and the bolts (23).
(18) Remove the bracket (21) from RIB8 of the pylon box.
