A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the slats are fully retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-005).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is in position on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
(4) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to start engine 1(2).
(5) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
(6) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, at zones 410 and 470
(b) For the right pylon, at zones 420 and 480.
(7) Make sure that the engine fire-extinguisher bottle is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
Subtask 54-51-41-040-060-A (1) Make sure that the slats are fully retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-005).

(5) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:

(7) Make sure that the engine fire-extinguisher bottle is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-000-001).
B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 54-51-41-914-056-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809). C. Preparation of the Replacement Component
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Clean the external surfaces of the spigot ball joint (3) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Do a visual inspection of the spigot ball joint (3).
4. Procedure(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Clean the external surfaces of the spigot ball joint (3) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Do a visual inspection of the spigot ball joint (3).

A. Installation of the Spigot Ball Joint
(1) Put the spigot ball joint (3) in its housing.
(2) Install the hi-locks (2) and the collars (1) SRM 514200.
(3) If you removed the washers (5) and (7) and the screws (4) and (6):
(a) Install the clamps (9), the washers (5) and (7) and the screws (4) and (6) on the bracket (8).
(b) Tighten the screws (4) and (6).
(4) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet 120 degre Celsius (Material No.06ABB2) on the collars (1).
(5) Remove the unwanted sealant with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
Subtask 54-51-41-420-064-A (1) Put the spigot ball joint (3) in its housing.
(2) Install the hi-locks (2) and the collars (1) SRM 514200.
(3) If you removed the washers (5) and (7) and the screws (4) and (6):
(a) Install the clamps (9), the washers (5) and (7) and the screws (4) and (6) on the bracket (8).
(b) Tighten the screws (4) and (6).
(4) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet 120 degre Celsius (Material No.06ABB2) on the collars (1).
(5) Remove the unwanted sealant with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
B. Connection of the Bonding Leads of the Spigot at RIB6
(1) If removed, connect the bonding leads (24) of the spigot at RIB6:
(a) Prepare the surface of the bonding points of the bonding leads (24) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
(b) Put the bonding leads (24) in position on the bonding angles (23) that are installed on the pylon box at RIB6.
(c) Install and tighten the bolts (25).
(d) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding points of the bonding leads (24) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
5. Close-up(1) If removed, connect the bonding leads (24) of the spigot at RIB6:
(a) Prepare the surface of the bonding points of the bonding leads (24) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
(b) Put the bonding leads (24) in position on the bonding angles (23) that are installed on the pylon box at RIB6.
(c) Install and tighten the bolts (25).
(d) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding points of the bonding leads (24) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).

A. Installation of the Components
(1) Install the engine fire-extinguisher bottle (Ref. AMM TASK 26-21-41-400-001).
(2) Install the pylon lateral access-door (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-21-400-803):

C. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
