A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the aircraft is stable (Ref. AMM TASK 05-57-00-200-001).
Subtask 54-51-17-010-074-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

B. Removal of the Access Panels and Fairing
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.
(2) Make sure that the pylon-to-wing access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-806):
(a) For the left pylon: 471CL 472BR
(b) For the right pylon: 481BL 482CR.
(3) Make sure that the Rear Pylon Fairing (RPF) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-804).
Subtask 54-51-17-160-058-A (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.
(2) Make sure that the pylon-to-wing access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-806):
(a) For the left pylon: 471CL 472BR
(b) For the right pylon: 481BL 482CR.
(3) Make sure that the Rear Pylon Fairing (RPF) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-54-00-000-804).
C. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) If they are not sufficiently clean, clean the parts retained from the removed component with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Make sure that:
(a) The nuts (39) and (34) at RIB10 are in the correct condition. If necessary, replace the AIPC 54-51-87-31-160 NUTS (39) (left) and AIPC 54-51-87-32-160 NUTS (39) (right) and AIPC 54-51-87-31-110 NUT (34) (left) and AIPC 54-51-87-32-110 NUT (34) (right).
(b) The tab washers of the bearing assembly at RIB10 are in the correct condition. If necessary, replace the tab washers (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-17-000-810) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-17-400-809).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) If they are not sufficiently clean, clean the parts retained from the removed component with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Make sure that:
(a) The nuts (39) and (34) at RIB10 are in the correct condition. If necessary, replace the AIPC 54-51-87-31-160 NUTS (39) (left) and AIPC 54-51-87-32-160 NUTS (39) (right) and AIPC 54-51-87-31-110 NUT (34) (left) and AIPC 54-51-87-32-110 NUT (34) (right).
(b) The tab washers of the bearing assembly at RIB10 are in the correct condition. If necessary, replace the tab washers (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-17-000-810) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-17-400-809).
Subtask 54-51-17-420-097-A
A. Installation of the Pylon-to-Wing Aft Attach-Fittings at RIB10
(2) Put the shackles (41) in position.
(3) Install the sleeves (42).
(5) Install the nuts (39).
(8) Install the nut (34).
(9) Lock the sleeves (42) and (32) with a special wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(10) TORQUE the nuts (39) and (34) to between 12 and 1 m.daN (1061.95 and 88.50 lbf.in )
. Use the pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET and a torque wrench.
(11) Bend the tab washers (40) and (33) to safety the nuts (39) and (34).
(12) Install the fail-safe pins (43) and (31).
(13) Lock the fail-safe pins (43) and (31) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(14) Install the nuts (38) and (35) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(15) TORQUE the nuts (38) and (35) to between 12 and 1 m.daN (1061.95 and 88.50 lbf.in )

(17) Safety the nuts (35) with new AIPC 54-51-87-31-090 COTTER PIN (36) (left) and new AIPC 54-51-87-32-090 COTTER PIN (36) (right).
Subtask 54-51-17-081-057-A CAUTION:
USE BULLET PINS WHEN YOU INSTALL THE SLEEVES. THIS IS TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE THREADS.
(1) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) to the sleeves and all the friction surfaces. (2) Put the shackles (41) in position.
(3) Install the sleeves (42).
NOTE: You can install the sleeves more easily if you change the force that the jack applies to the attach-fittings.
(4) Install new AIPC 54-51-87-31-170 TAB WASHERS (40) (left) and new AIPC 54-51-87-32-170 TAB WASHERS (40) (right). (5) Install the nuts (39).
NOTE: You will only torque the nuts (39) after the installation of the sleeve (32).
(6) Install the sleeve (32). NOTE: You can install the sleeve more easily if you change the force that the jack applies to the attach-fittings.
(7) Install new AIPC 54-51-87-31-120 TAB WASHER (33) (left) and new AIPC 54-51-87-32-120 TAB WASHER (33) (right). (8) Install the nut (34).
(9) Lock the sleeves (42) and (32) with a special wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(10) TORQUE the nuts (39) and (34) to between 12 and 1 m.daN (1061.95 and 88.50 lbf.in )
. Use the pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET and a torque wrench. (11) Bend the tab washers (40) and (33) to safety the nuts (39) and (34).
(12) Install the fail-safe pins (43) and (31).
(13) Lock the fail-safe pins (43) and (31) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(14) Install the nuts (38) and (35) with a pin wrench from the 98D54503000001 PYLON R/I WRENCH SET.
(15) TORQUE the nuts (38) and (35) to between 12 and 1 m.daN (1061.95 and 88.50 lbf.in )
. WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(16) Safety the nuts (38) with new AIPC 54-51-87-31-090 COTTER PINS (37) (left) and new AIPC 54-51-87-32-090 COTTER PINS (37) (right). (17) Safety the nuts (35) with new AIPC 54-51-87-31-090 COTTER PIN (36) (left) and new AIPC 54-51-87-32-090 COTTER PIN (36) (right).
B. Removal of the Dynamometric Adaptor and Jack below the Attach-Fittings
(1) Release the force applied at the forward engine-to-pylon attach-fittings and lower the jack.
(2) Remove the 98D54403009000 DYNAMOMETRIC ADAPTOR.
(3) Remove the jack from below the forward engine-to-pylon attach-fittings.
5. Close-up(1) Release the force applied at the forward engine-to-pylon attach-fittings and lower the jack.
(2) Remove the 98D54403009000 DYNAMOMETRIC ADAPTOR.
(3) Remove the jack from below the forward engine-to-pylon attach-fittings.
