A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, in zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, in zone 480.

B. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the parts retained from the removed component with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(2) Use a SPATULA - PLASTIC to remove unwanted material from the interface of the pylon rear attachment.
(3) Clean the interface of the bearings (4) and the pylon aft attachment (3) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , if necessary.
(4) Examine the pylon aft attachment and the adjacent structure for:
4. Procedure(1) Clean the parts retained from the removed component with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(2) Use a SPATULA - PLASTIC to remove unwanted material from the interface of the pylon rear attachment.

(4) Examine the pylon aft attachment and the adjacent structure for:
- Cracks
- Damaged paint and sealant
- Distortion
- Correct condition of all the fasteners and safety devices.

A. Installation of the Bearings of the Pylon Aft Attachment at RIB10
(1) Install new bearings (4) on the pylon aft attachment (3) with the 98D54003018000 BEARING RIB10 RI KIT.
(2) Install new tab washers (2). Make sure that the internal tab of the washers (2) is engaged in the slot on the bearings (4).
(4) Hold the bearings (4) with the 98D54003018000 BEARING RIB10 RI KIT.
(5) TORQUE the slotted nuts (1) to between 28 and 22 m.daN (206.49 and 162.24 lbf.ft )
with the 98D54003018000 BEARING RIB10 RI KIT.
(6) Safety the slotted nuts (1) with the tab washers (2).
5. Close-up(1) Install new bearings (4) on the pylon aft attachment (3) with the 98D54003018000 BEARING RIB10 RI KIT.
(2) Install new tab washers (2). Make sure that the internal tab of the washers (2) is engaged in the slot on the bearings (4).
NOTE: It is necessary to bend the tabs of the tab washers (2) before you install the slotted nuts (1). This will make it easier to bend the tabs when you subsequently lock the slotted nuts.
(3) Install the slotted nuts (1) on the bearings (4) with the chamfered face against the tab washers (2). (4) Hold the bearings (4) with the 98D54003018000 BEARING RIB10 RI KIT.
(5) TORQUE the slotted nuts (1) to between 28 and 22 m.daN (206.49 and 162.24 lbf.ft )
with the 98D54003018000 BEARING RIB10 RI KIT. (6) Safety the slotted nuts (1) with the tab washers (2).

A. Close Access
(1) Install the pylon-to-wing aft attach-fittings at RIB10 (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-17-400-808).
