A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to start engine 1(2).
(2) On the ENG section of overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that you obeyed the instructions of the fuel safety procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(5) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, at zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, at zone 480.

(4) Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041). (5) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, at zone 470
(b) For the right pylon, at zone 480.

A. Preparation before Installation

Pylon Rear Attachment at RIB10 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) Clean the parts that you kept from the removed component with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(2) Use the SPATULA - PLASTIC to remove the unwanted material from the interface of the pylon rear attachment.
(3) Clean the interface of the bearings (4) and the pylon rear attachment (3) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Examine the pylon rear attachment and the adjacent structure for:

- Cracks
- Damaged paint and sealant
- Distortion
- Correct condition of all fasteners and safety devices.
B. Installation of the Bearing of the Pylon Rear Attachment

Pylon Rear Attachment at RIB10 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the interface of the bearings (4) and the pylon rear attachment (3).
(2) Install the new AIPC 54-51-29-04-010 BEARINGS (4) on the pylon rear attachment (3) with the 98D54003006000 WRENCH-CASTELLETED (98D54003006202).
(3) Install the new tab washers (2).
(4) Make sure that the internal tab of the washers (2) is engaged in the slot on the bearings (4).
(5) Lightly bend the tabs of the tab washers (2) before you install the slotted nuts (1).
(7) Hold the bearings (4) with the 98D54003006000 WRENCH-CASTELLETED (98D54003006202).
(8) TORQUE the slotted nuts (1) to between 40 and 30 m.daN (294.99 and 221.24 lbf.ft )
with the 98D54003006000 WRENCH-CASTELLETED (98D54003006200).
(9) Safety the slotted nuts (1) with the tab washers (2).

Pylon Rear Attachment at RIB10 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (2) Install the new AIPC 54-51-29-04-010 BEARINGS (4) on the pylon rear attachment (3) with the 98D54003006000 WRENCH-CASTELLETED (98D54003006202).
(3) Install the new tab washers (2).
(4) Make sure that the internal tab of the washers (2) is engaged in the slot on the bearings (4).
(5) Lightly bend the tabs of the tab washers (2) before you install the slotted nuts (1).
NOTE: This will make the locking of the slotted nuts easier.
(6) Install the slotted nuts (1) on the bearings (4) with the chamfered face against the tab washers (2). (7) Hold the bearings (4) with the 98D54003006000 WRENCH-CASTELLETED (98D54003006202).
(8) TORQUE the slotted nuts (1) to between 40 and 30 m.daN (294.99 and 221.24 lbf.ft )
with the 98D54003006000 WRENCH-CASTELLETED (98D54003006200). (9) Safety the slotted nuts (1) with the tab washers (2).

(1) Install the applicable pylon-to-wing aft attach-fitting at RIB10 (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-17-400-002).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make the thrust reverser serviceable after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-081-041).
