A. Get Access
(1) Make sure that you obeyed the special precautions before you start the work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the forward or aft passenger/crew door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(3) Make sure that you removed the cover flap (13) from the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-001).
(4) Make sure that you removed the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-000-001).
Subtask 52-71-13-865-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that you obeyed the special precautions before you start the work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the forward or aft passenger/crew door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(3) Make sure that you removed the cover flap (13) from the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-001).
(4) Make sure that you removed the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-000-001).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

Subtask 52-71-13-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Proximity Switch
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(5) Install the target bracket (2) on the cover flap (13) as follows:
(b) Install the screws (4) and the washers (3) on the target bracket (2).
(c) Tighten the screws (4).
(6) Install the proximity switch (6) on the support bracket (7) as follows:
(a) Put the proximity switch (6) in position on the support bracket (7).
(b) Install the lock washer (8) and the lock nut (9) on the proximity switch (6).
(c) Make sure that the lock washer (8) is correctly engaged in the attachment hole of the support bracket (7).

(e) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(f) Connect the electrical connector (5) to the proximity switch (6).
(g) Install the support bracket (7) on the hatch frame of the cabin lining (12).
(h) Install the washers (10) and the screws (11).
(i) Tighten the screws (11).
Subtask 52-71-13-820-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(5) Install the target bracket (2) on the cover flap (13) as follows:
NOTE: The target (1) is pushed in the target bracket (2).
(a) Put the target bracket (2) on the rear side of the cover flap (13). (b) Install the screws (4) and the washers (3) on the target bracket (2).
(c) Tighten the screws (4).
(6) Install the proximity switch (6) on the support bracket (7) as follows:
(a) Put the proximity switch (6) in position on the support bracket (7).
(b) Install the lock washer (8) and the lock nut (9) on the proximity switch (6).
(c) Make sure that the lock washer (8) is correctly engaged in the attachment hole of the support bracket (7).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(d) Tighten the lock nut (9) and safety it with the (e) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(f) Connect the electrical connector (5) to the proximity switch (6).
(g) Install the support bracket (7) on the hatch frame of the cabin lining (12).
(h) Install the washers (10) and the screws (11).
(i) Tighten the screws (11).
B. Adjustment of the Proximity Switch
(1) Make sure that the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) is correctly installed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-400-001).
(2) Make sure that the related cover flap (13) is correctly engaged on the hatch lining (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-001).
(3) Make sure that the target (1) and the proximity switch (6) align.
(4) If necessary, adjust the position of the support bracket (7) and the target bracket (2).
(5) Measure clearance E between the target (1) and the related proximity switch (6) as follows:
(a) Move the seal from the cover flap (13) and hold it down.
(b) Measure clearance E between the target (1) and the related proximity switch (6) with the GAGE - FEELER.
(6) Make sure that clearance E is between 1.8 mm (0.0709 in.) and 2.2 mm (0.0866 in.).
(7) If clearance E is not in the tolerance, adjust the position of the target bracket (2) as follows:
(a) Remove the cover flap (13) from the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-001).
(b) Loosen the screws (4) and move the target bracket (2), as necessary.
(c) Tighten the screws (4).
(d) Install the cover flap (13) on the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-001).
(8) Make sure that applicable proximity switch operates correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-710-001).
Subtask 52-71-13-820-050-CJ ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) is correctly installed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-400-001).
(2) Make sure that the related cover flap (13) is correctly engaged on the hatch lining (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-001).
(3) Make sure that the target (1) and the proximity switch (6) align.
(4) If necessary, adjust the position of the support bracket (7) and the target bracket (2).
(5) Measure clearance E between the target (1) and the related proximity switch (6) as follows:
(a) Move the seal from the cover flap (13) and hold it down.
(b) Measure clearance E between the target (1) and the related proximity switch (6) with the GAGE - FEELER.
(6) Make sure that clearance E is between 1.8 mm (0.0709 in.) and 2.2 mm (0.0866 in.).
(7) If clearance E is not in the tolerance, adjust the position of the target bracket (2) as follows:
(a) Remove the cover flap (13) from the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-001).
(b) Loosen the screws (4) and move the target bracket (2), as necessary.
(c) Tighten the screws (4).
(d) Install the cover flap (13) on the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-001).
(8) Make sure that applicable proximity switch operates correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-710-001).
B. Adjustment of the Proximity Switch
(1) Make sure that the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) is correctly installed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-400-001).
(2) Make sure that the related cover flap (13) is correctly engaged on the hatch lining (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-001).
(3) Make sure that the target (1) and the proximity switch (6) align.
(4) If necessary, adjust the position of the support bracket (7) and the target bracket (2).
(5) Measure clearance E between the target (1) and the related proximity switch (6) as follows:
(a) Move the seal from the cover flap (13) and hold it down.
(b) Measure clearance E between the target (1) and the related proximity switch (6) with the GAGE - FEELER.
(6) Make sure that clearance E is between 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) and 1.2 mm (0.0472 in.).
(7) If clearance E is not in the tolerance, adjust the position of the target bracket (2) as follows:
(a) Remove the cover flap (13) from the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-001).
(b) Loosen the screws (4) and move the target bracket (2), as necessary.
(c) Tighten the screws (4).
(d) Install the cover flap (13) on the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-001).
(8) Make sure that applicable proximity switch operates correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-710-001).
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) is correctly installed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-400-001).
(2) Make sure that the related cover flap (13) is correctly engaged on the hatch lining (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-001).
(3) Make sure that the target (1) and the proximity switch (6) align.
(4) If necessary, adjust the position of the support bracket (7) and the target bracket (2).
(5) Measure clearance E between the target (1) and the related proximity switch (6) as follows:
(a) Move the seal from the cover flap (13) and hold it down.
(b) Measure clearance E between the target (1) and the related proximity switch (6) with the GAGE - FEELER.
(6) Make sure that clearance E is between 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) and 1.2 mm (0.0472 in.).
(7) If clearance E is not in the tolerance, adjust the position of the target bracket (2) as follows:
(a) Remove the cover flap (13) from the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-001).
(b) Loosen the screws (4) and move the target bracket (2), as necessary.
(c) Tighten the screws (4).
(d) Install the cover flap (13) on the applicable emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-001).
(8) Make sure that applicable proximity switch operates correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-710-001).
Subtask 52-71-13-410-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Make sure that the cover flap (13) is correctly installed on the emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-001).
(4) Close the forward or aft passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Make sure that the cover flap (13) is correctly installed on the emergency exit hatch (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-001).
(4) Close the forward or aft passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
