(3) Remove the 98D52207543000 DEVICE-SAFETY,EMERGENCY EXIT from the pull lever of the hatch control handle.
B. Check of the Hatch Seal
(1) Measure the clearance "A" between the contour of the hatch skin and the lip of the hatch seal.
(2) The clearance "A" must be between 9.0 mm (0.35 in.) and 10.0 mm (0.39 in.).
(3) If the clearance "A" is less than 9.0 mm (0.35 in.):
4. Procedure(1) Measure the clearance "A" between the contour of the hatch skin and the lip of the hatch seal.
(2) The clearance "A" must be between 9.0 mm (0.35 in.) and 10.0 mm (0.39 in.).
(3) If the clearance "A" is less than 9.0 mm (0.35 in.):
- Manually put the hatch seal in its correct position to make sure the clearance is in the specified limits.

A. Installation of the Emergency Exit Hatch
(2) Apply Silicone base Grease-- Paste - (Material No.03JAB1) to the area where the hatch seal touches the adjacent fuselage.
(3) Put the hatch in position on the door sill until the hook brackets engage correctly with the pivot fittings.
(4) Make sure that:
(6) Examine the hatch position to make sure that there is an offset between the hatch lining and the dado panels.
(7) Push the top of the hatch into the opening of the fuselage and hold it in this position.
(8) Lift the spring-loaded linkage to release the blockage of the hatch control handle.
(9) Lock the hatch in the closed position as follows:
Subtask 52-21-11-410-059-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: If you do not install the same hatch you must obey the inspection instructions given in ISB 52-1045.
NOTE: If you have removed more than one hatch, remove the temporary mark you made on each hatch (that shows its initial position) after installation.
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(2) Apply Silicone base Grease-- Paste - (Material No.03JAB1) to the area where the hatch seal touches the adjacent fuselage.
(3) Put the hatch in position on the door sill until the hook brackets engage correctly with the pivot fittings.
(4) Make sure that:
- The latch pin of the forward hatch (Z833 or Z843) shows in the rear direction
- The latch pin of the aft hatch (Z834 or Z844) shows in the forward direction.
CAUTION:
STOP THE LOCKING PROCEDURE IMMEDIATELY IF THE OPERATION FORCE ON THE PULL LEVER IS VERY HIGH. THIS PREVENTS THE INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE EMERGENCY EXIT HATCH.
(a) Push the pull lever of the hatch control handle in its overcenter position to lock the hatch into the opening. NOTE: If the operation force of the pull lever is very high, stop the locking procedure immediately. The high operation force is the result of an incorrect engagement of the hook brackets with the pivot fittings. If this occurs, remove the hatch and install it again.

B. To Arm the Escape-Slide Release Mechanism
(1) Push the latch pin against the spring and turn it a quarter turn clockwise.
(2) Release the latch pin and make sure that it extends to the ARMED position.

NOTE: The white indicator light SLIDE ARMED in the cabin lining comes on.
(3) Install the cover flap on the hatch and push it against the hatch. NOTE: The white indicator light SLIDE ARMED goes off.
C. Adjustment of the Emergency Exit Hatch
(1) Examine the position of the replaced hatch from the outboard side as follows:
(a) Make sure that skin offset between the hatch contour and the fuselage contour is correct (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-820-001).
(b) Make sure that the clearances between the hatch and the fuselage are correct (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-820-001).
(c) Make sure that the clearance between the pull lever and the roller of the flush panel is correct (Ref. AMM TASK 52-21-11-820-002).
(d) Make sure that the hatch seal is in its correct installation position. If necessary, do the installation of the hatch again.
Subtask 52-21-11-700-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Examine the position of the replaced hatch from the outboard side as follows:
