A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position below the access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2) Make sure that the access doors 315AL and 316AR are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
Subtask 49-17-41-865-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position below the access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2) Make sure that the access doors 315AL and 316AR are open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make an inspection of the drain tank (9) for damage, dents, chafings and cracks. Install a new drain tank if necessary.
(2) Remove the blanking plugs from the line ends.
(3) Clean the mating surfaces and apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) .
Subtask 49-17-41-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make an inspection of the drain tank (9) for damage, dents, chafings and cracks. Install a new drain tank if necessary.
(2) Remove the blanking plugs from the line ends.
(3) Clean the mating surfaces and apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) .
B. Installation of the Drain Tank
(1) Put the drain tank (9) between the brackets (7) on the air intake diffuser (8).
(2) Protective Treatment
(a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) or Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the screws (6), the washers (5) and the nuts (10).
(3) Install the screws (6), the washers (5) and the nuts (10). Do not fully tighten the screws at this time.
(4) Install the spring adapters (1) with the washers (2) and the nuts (3).
(5) Close the APU access door 316AR.
(6) Adjust the drain tank/spring adapter assembly as follows:
(a) Move the center of the spring adapters (1) into the center of the APU drain lines.
(b) Adjust the preload of the spring adapters (1) until the dimension C is 48.0 mm (1.8898 in.).
(7) Fully tighten the screws (6) and the nuts (10).
(8) Connect and tighten the nuts (4) to the drain lines.
Subtask 49-17-41-865-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the drain tank (9) between the brackets (7) on the air intake diffuser (8).
(2) Protective Treatment
(a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) or Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the screws (6), the washers (5) and the nuts (10).
(3) Install the screws (6), the washers (5) and the nuts (10). Do not fully tighten the screws at this time.
(4) Install the spring adapters (1) with the washers (2) and the nuts (3).
(5) Close the APU access door 316AR.
(6) Adjust the drain tank/spring adapter assembly as follows:
(a) Move the center of the spring adapters (1) into the center of the APU drain lines.
(b) Adjust the preload of the spring adapters (1) until the dimension C is 48.0 mm (1.8898 in.).
(7) Fully tighten the screws (6) and the nuts (10).
(8) Connect and tighten the nuts (4) to the drain lines.
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Test
(1) Start and operate the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-005).
(2) Do the APU shutdown (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-006).
(a) After the shutdown, examine the joints of the drain tank for leaks.
5. Close-up(1) Start and operate the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-005).
(2) Do the APU shutdown (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-006).
(a) After the shutdown, examine the joints of the drain tank for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the APU access doors 315AL 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
