A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Put the warning notices on panel 25VU to tell persons not to start the APU.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

C. Get Access

WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.

(1) Put on and attach a safety harness before you start work in the work area
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE below the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR and the maintenance door 314AR.
(3) Open access door 314AR and safety it in the open position.
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-010-801).
(4) Set the LIGHT control switch 3LJ to the ON position.
(5) Open the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(6) Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the ON position.
(7) Remove the air intake flap (Ref. AMM TASK 49-16-43-000-003).
(8) Remove the hinge assembly (6) to get access to the rear section of the fixed diverter (18):
(a) Remove the sealant from the screw (4) and washer (3) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC
(b) Hold the hinge assembly (6) and remove the screws (2) and the washers (1).
(c) Remove the screw (4) and the washer (3).
(d) Release the hinge assembly (6) from the flap-actuator control box (5) to get access to the rear section of the fixed diverter (18).

4. Procedure
Subtask 49-16-41-020-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the fixed Diverter
(1) Remove the sealant from the screws (7) and washers (8) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(2) Remove the screws (7) and the washers (8).
(3) Remove the nuts (11), the washers (12) and the screws (10).
(4) Remove the screws (13) and the washers (14).
(5) Remove the screws (15) and the washers (16) and (17).
(6) Remove the sealant around the fixed diverter (18) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(7) Remove the fixed diverter (18) and the shim (9).
