Removal of the Water Valve
WARNING:
DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING:
ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
- ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
- ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WARNING:
WHEN YOU REMOVE A COMPONENT OF THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, ALWAYS DISINFECT THE PART BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BAG, THEN SEAL THE BAG.
DO NOT PUT DOCUMENTS INTO THE PLASTIC BAG. SEAL THE BAG FIRST,THEN ATTACH THE DOCUMENTS TO IT.
THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION OR ILLNESS. CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
NOTE: The procedure for the removal of all the water valves is the same.

C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(2) Open the lavatory door.
(3) Remove the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001).
(4) Close the potable-water shutoff valve (7).
(5) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (7).
Subtask 38-31-55-010-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(2) Open the lavatory door.
(3) Remove the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001).
(4) Close the potable-water shutoff valve (7).
(5) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (7).
C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(2) Open the lavatory door.
(3) Remove the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-802).
(4) Close the potable-water shutoff valve (3).
(5) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (3).
Subtask 38-31-55-010-051-J ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(2) Open the lavatory door.
(3) Remove the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-802).
(4) Close the potable-water shutoff valve (3).
(5) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (3).
C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(2) Open the lavatory door.
(3) Remove the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-802).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(2) Open the lavatory door.
(3) Remove the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-802).
Subtask 38-31-55-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Water Valve
(1) Put the COVER - BLANKING in the suction port of the toilet bowl.
(3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(4) Remove the clamp (10).
(5) Remove the sleeve (9).
(6) Remove the packings (8) and discard them.
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(9) Cut and discard the tie wrap (6).
(10) Remove the water valve (1) and retain the spacer (2).
(11) Remove the packing (3) and discard it.
(12) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(13) If you use the removed parts again, clean and disinfect them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
Subtask 38-31-55-020-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the COVER - BLANKING in the suction port of the toilet bowl.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (5). (3) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(4) Remove the clamp (10).
(5) Remove the sleeve (9).
(6) Remove the packings (8) and discard them.
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(8) Remove the lockwire from the water valve (1) and discard it. (9) Cut and discard the tie wrap (6).
(10) Remove the water valve (1) and retain the spacer (2).
(11) Remove the packing (3) and discard it.
(12) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(13) If you use the removed parts again, clean and disinfect them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
A. Removal of the Water Valve
(1) Put the COVER - BLANKING in the suction port of the toilet bowl.
(2) Cut the cable-tie (10) that holds the connector cable and discard it.
(3) Remove the rubber (11) from the connector cable.
(5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Remove the anti-syphon valve (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-56-000-001).
(7) Remove the nut (9), the washer (8) and the bolt (12).
(8) Open the retainer (13).
(10) Remove the water valve (6).
(11) Remove and discard the packing (7).
(12) Remove the water valve screen (4) from the water valve (6).
(13) Remove and discard the packing (5).
(14) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(15) If you use removed parts again, clean them with disinfectant (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
Subtask 38-31-55-020-050-I ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the COVER - BLANKING in the suction port of the toilet bowl.
(2) Cut the cable-tie (10) that holds the connector cable and discard it.
(3) Remove the rubber (11) from the connector cable.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Disconnect the electrical connector (1). (5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Remove the anti-syphon valve (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-56-000-001).
(7) Remove the nut (9), the washer (8) and the bolt (12).
(8) Open the retainer (13).
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(9) Use the WRENCH - OPEN END and disconnect the water line (2) from the water valve (6). - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(10) Remove the water valve (6).
(11) Remove and discard the packing (7).
(12) Remove the water valve screen (4) from the water valve (6).
(13) Remove and discard the packing (5).
(14) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(15) If you use removed parts again, clean them with disinfectant (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
A. Removal of the Water Valve
(1) Close the potable-water shutoff valve (1).
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (1).
(4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Remove the anti-syphon valve (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-56-000-001).
(7) Unlock and remove the quick-release clamp (11) from the water valve (15).
(8) Remove the adapter (13), packing (12), water valve screen (10) and packing (9) from the water valve (15).
(9) Discard the packings (12) and (9).
(10) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(11) Unlock and remove the quick-release clamp (4) from the water valve (15).
(12) Remove the tube (3) and the packing (5) from the water valve (15).
(13) Discard the packing (5).
(14) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(15) Move the cam lever (7) up and turn it 90 degrees.
(16) Disengage the quarter turn cam-fastener (6).
(17) Remove the water valve (15).
(18) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(19) If you use the removed parts again, clean them with disinfectant (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(1) Close the potable-water shutoff valve (1).
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (1).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (8) from the flush valve assembly (2). (4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Remove the anti-syphon valve (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-56-000-001).
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(6) Use the WRENCH - OPEN END and disconnect the water line (14) from the adapter (13). - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(7) Unlock and remove the quick-release clamp (11) from the water valve (15).
(8) Remove the adapter (13), packing (12), water valve screen (10) and packing (9) from the water valve (15).
(9) Discard the packings (12) and (9).
(10) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(11) Unlock and remove the quick-release clamp (4) from the water valve (15).
(12) Remove the tube (3) and the packing (5) from the water valve (15).
(13) Discard the packing (5).
(14) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(15) Move the cam lever (7) up and turn it 90 degrees.
(16) Disengage the quarter turn cam-fastener (6).
(17) Remove the water valve (15).
(18) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(19) If you use the removed parts again, clean them with disinfectant (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
