Inspection of the Hight Pressure (HP) Bleed Control Air Tubes
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

(1) On the ENG panel 115VU:

- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(3) On the ENG section of the panel 50VU:
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off,
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position below the engine.

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position below the engine.
D. Deactivate the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 36-11-47-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). E. Open the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):

F. Cleaning of the HP Bleed Control Air Tubes
(1) Clean the HP bleed control air tubes (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5).
(a) Make a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) moist with cleaning fluid (Material No.V01-002) . Use the cloth to clean the HP bleed control air tubes.
(b) Dry the HP bleed control air tubes with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
4. Procedure(1) Clean the HP bleed control air tubes (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5).
(a) Make a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) moist with cleaning fluid (Material No.V01-002) . Use the cloth to clean the HP bleed control air tubes.
(b) Dry the HP bleed control air tubes with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

A. Inspection of the High Pressure (HP) Bleed Control Air Tubes
(1) Examine the HP bleed control air tubes (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5) for security of attachment. Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and the MIRROR - INSPECTION.
(a) If the HP bleed control air tubes are loose, examine these items for damage, wear and loss of torque:
(2) Examine the HP bleed control air tubes (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5) connections for signs of leaks. No leaks are permitted. Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and the MIRROR - INSPECTION.
(a) If signs of leaks are found:
(a) Examine the HP bleed control air tubes for cracks.
5. Close-up(1) Examine the HP bleed control air tubes (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5) for security of attachment. Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and the MIRROR - INSPECTION.
(a) If the HP bleed control air tubes are loose, examine these items for damage, wear and loss of torque:
- the attachment nuts and bolts,
- the attachment clips,
- the wire that safeties the connection,
- the union nuts and the tube end fittings.
(2) Examine the HP bleed control air tubes (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5) connections for signs of leaks. No leaks are permitted. Use the LIGHT SOURCE - INSPECTION and the MIRROR - INSPECTION.
(a) If signs of leaks are found:
- examine the union nuts for loss of torque,
- if there is a loss of torque, examine the union nuts and the tube end fittings for damage and wear.
(a) Examine the HP bleed control air tubes for cracks.
- If a tube has cracks, reject it.
- If a tube has dents or damage, reject it.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010):
