- PROTECTIVE BREATHING EQUIPMENT
- FIXED AND PORTABLE OXYGEN CYLINDERS.

KEEP ALL HYDROCARBONS (FUELS, LUBRICANTS, ETC.) AWAY FROM ALL SOURCE OF OXYGEN. OXYGEN BECOMES EXPLOSIVE WHEN IT TOUCHES HYDROCARBONS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the special precautions when you do work on a gaseous oxygen system (Ref. AMM TASK 35-00-00-860-001).
(2) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Get Access
(1) For the location of the component, refer to Para. Component Location (Ref. AMM D/O 35-32-00-00).
(2) Carefully remove the oxygen mask from the stowage bag (Ref. AMM TASK 35-32-42-000-001).

A. Detailed Inspection of the Portable Oxygen Mask
(1) If necessary use a FLASHLIGHT.
(2) For each portable oxygen mask make sure that:

- The portable oxygen mask is clean, shows no damage and has no cracks, deformation and/or discoloration.

(1) Carefully install the oxygen mask in the stowage bag (Ref. AMM TASK 35-32-42-400-001).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
