WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

Subtask 32-49-51-860-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position:
(3) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(4) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are de-energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position:
- In the cockpit, on right center-instrument-panel 400VU, to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control-lever.
- On the steering handwheel (CAPT and F/O) and on the rudder pedals, to tell persons not to operate them.
(3) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(4) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are de-energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
Subtask 32-49-51-420-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Electrical Harness (with TPIS)
(2) Apply a layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the threads of all the nuts and bolts you install them.
(3) Hold upper harness 1M in position and:
(a) Connect the upper electrical harness (2) to the transition box (1).
(b) Put the clamps (3), (6), (9), (14) in position on the bracket (15) and install the washers (4), (7), (10), (13) and the screws (5), (8), (11), (12).
(c) Put the clamp (16) in position on the bracket (19), install the washers (17) and the screws (18).
(d) Put the clamps (21) in position on the bracket (20), install the washers (22) and the screws (23).
(e) Install the support (24), clamp (25), washer (26) and screw (27) on the upper torque link.
(f) Connect the electrical connector (32) to the connector (31).
(g) Install the clamp (30), washer (29) and screw (28) on the lower torque link.
(4) Install the lower connections of the lower electrical harness (33) as follows:
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the electrical connectors immediately before you connect them.
(b) Apply a layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the threads of all the nuts and bolts before you install them.
(c) Hold the lower electrical harness (33) in position and engage the two electrical connectors (34) on the wheel axle until the bulkhead union (43) is in position. Make sure that electrical connector 4GVA (34) is on the right side and that electrical connector 5GVA (34) is on the left side.
(d) Install the NLG TPIS rotating-mechanism (Ref. AMM D/O 32-49-17-40).
(e) Put the bulkhead union (43) in position on the support (39).
(f) Install the nut (40), the washer (42) and the bolt (44).
(g) Tighten the nut (40).
(h) Safety the nut (40) with a new AIPC 32-21-11-03-040 COTTER PIN (14) cotter pin (41).
(5) Install the upper connection of the lower electrical harness (33) as follows:
(a) Put the clamp (35) on the lower electrical harness (33).
(b) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the lower electrical harness (33).
(c) Connect the lower electrical harness (33) to the support (34).
(d) Make sure that the clamp (35) is in the correct position on the lower electrical harness (33).
(e) Install the nut (38), washer (37) and screw (36) through the support (34) and the clamp (35).
(f) Tighten the nut (38).
Subtask 32-49-51-710-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 32-49-51-720-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
FOR SAFETY STAND AFT OF THE GEAR LEG WHEN YOU OPERATE THE GROUND OPENING CONTROL OF THE DOOR. CAREFULLY READ THE PLACARD ON THE LEG DOOR BEFORE YOU OPEN THE NOSE GEAR DOORS.
(1) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the electrical connectors immediately before you connect them. (2) Apply a layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the threads of all the nuts and bolts you install them.
(3) Hold upper harness 1M in position and:
(a) Connect the upper electrical harness (2) to the transition box (1).
(b) Put the clamps (3), (6), (9), (14) in position on the bracket (15) and install the washers (4), (7), (10), (13) and the screws (5), (8), (11), (12).
(c) Put the clamp (16) in position on the bracket (19), install the washers (17) and the screws (18).
(d) Put the clamps (21) in position on the bracket (20), install the washers (22) and the screws (23).
(e) Install the support (24), clamp (25), washer (26) and screw (27) on the upper torque link.
(f) Connect the electrical connector (32) to the connector (31).
(g) Install the clamp (30), washer (29) and screw (28) on the lower torque link.
(4) Install the lower connections of the lower electrical harness (33) as follows:
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the electrical connectors immediately before you connect them.
(b) Apply a layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the threads of all the nuts and bolts before you install them.
(c) Hold the lower electrical harness (33) in position and engage the two electrical connectors (34) on the wheel axle until the bulkhead union (43) is in position. Make sure that electrical connector 4GVA (34) is on the right side and that electrical connector 5GVA (34) is on the left side.
(d) Install the NLG TPIS rotating-mechanism (Ref. AMM D/O 32-49-17-40).
(e) Put the bulkhead union (43) in position on the support (39).
(f) Install the nut (40), the washer (42) and the bolt (44).
(g) Tighten the nut (40).
(h) Safety the nut (40) with a new AIPC 32-21-11-03-040 COTTER PIN (14) cotter pin (41).
(5) Install the upper connection of the lower electrical harness (33) as follows:
(a) Put the clamp (35) on the lower electrical harness (33).
(b) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the lower electrical harness (33).
(c) Connect the lower electrical harness (33) to the support (34).
(d) Make sure that the clamp (35) is in the correct position on the lower electrical harness (33).
(e) Install the nut (38), washer (37) and screw (36) through the support (34) and the clamp (35).
(f) Tighten the nut (38).
C. Functional Test
(1) Do a functional test of the steering system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-003).
5. Close-up(1) Do a functional test of the steering system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-003).

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the safety barriers.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
