Reactivation of the Alternate Braking after disconnection of the Yellow Hydraulic Supply


WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever and the brake pedals.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
   (2) Make sure that the parking brake control-switch is set to OFF before you do this procedure.

4. Procedure
Subtask 32-43-00-440-050-A
A. Reactivation after Isolation of Yellow Hydraulic Supply
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Cut and remove the lockwire that attaches the knurled sleeve (1).
   (2) Remove the self-adhesive fabric tape from the sleeve (1).
   (3) Connect the sleeve (1) to the half-coupling (2).
   (4) Bleed the Yellow braking system at the related brake (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-870-002).

B. Reactivation of the Wheel Brake with Disconnection of Flexible Hoses from Alternate Braking System if there is a Leak
   (1) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (2) Remove the blanking cap from the related union (6).
   (3) Install the flexible hose (5) on the flexible hose (1) connection and on the union (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-12-400-001).
   (4) Install the flexible hose (1) on the brake hydraulic self-sealing-coupling and on the flexible hose (5) connection (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-12-400-001).
   (5) Bleed the brake unit (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-870-002).

C. Test
   (1) Do the operational check of the alternate braking system. (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-710-001)
   (2) During this test, make sure that there are no leaks on the hydraulic connector.
5. Close-up
Subtask 32-43-00-860-060-A
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
