A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the BULK cargo-compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
   (3) Make sure that the SERVICE LIGHT switch is ON.
   (4) Make sure that the following cargo-compartment floor panels are removed
(Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001):
     (a) FOR [87DU] (HEATER-TAPE, WASTE WTR)

     (b) FOR [88DU] (HEATER-TAPE, WASTE WTR)

C. Preparation for Installation
WARNING: YOU MUST ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO THIS PROCEDURE.
   (1) Clean the waste water line with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
4. Procedure
Subtask 30-71-56-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of a Heater Element (Example)
   (1) Put the heater element (1) in position on the waste water tube (5).
NOTE: It not permitted to bend the heater element (1) in the Y-axis. The minimum bending radius in the X-axis is 25 mm (0.9843 in.).
   (2) Install the Adhesive Tape-- Glass Cloth - (Material No.05TAB1) (4) in a ring-shape to attach the heater element (1) on the waste water tube (5).
     (a) Make sure that the heater element (1) is correctly installed on the waste water tube (5).
   (3) Safety the two ends of the Adhesive Tape-- Glass Cloth - (Material No.05TAB1) with TIE WRAP(S) as an alternative to the shrinkable sleeve (2).
   (4) Electrical connections:
CAUTION: REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES. IF YOU MAKE AN ERROR WHEN YOU CONNECT THE WIRES YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Connect the electrical connections (3) with the ELEC CONTACTS INSERTION EXTRACTION TOOL M15570-20.
   (5) If removed, install the related temperature sensor.
   (6) Attach the identification and warning labels and the electrical wires of the heater element (1) with the cable-ties.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. The applicable heater elements are controlled and monitored by control unit 80DU. Nevertheless, do the BITE test of the waste-water ice-protection system (Ref. AMM TASK 30-71-00-710-002).

   (2) Set the SERVICE LIGHT switch to OFF.
   (3) Close the BULK cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
