3. Job Set-up
Subtask 30-21-49-860-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position.

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):

4. Procedure
Subtask 30-21-49-640-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Lubricate the four bolts (10) with common grease lubricant (Material No.CP04-003) .

B. Examine the seals (5) and (25) to make sure that they are serviceable.

C. Installation of the Top Anti-ice Duct
(1) Remove the blanking plugs from the anti-ice ducts and the engine port.
(2) Attach the top anti-ice duct (15) to the engine using four bolts (10) and a AIPC 30-21-49-01-350 SEAL (5). Do not torque the bolts at this time.
(3) Connect the top anti-ice duct:

CAUTION: BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE RIGHT THRUST REVERSER HALF, MAKE SURE THAT:

THE SMOOTH CIRCULAR SURFACE OF THE COUPLING IS RADIALLY OUTBOARD FROM THE ENGINE.
THE COUPLING DOES NOT TOUCH THE ENGINE COMPONENTS OR THE THRUST REVERSER HEAT SHIELD STRUCTURE, AND WILL NOT TOUCH THE HEAT SHIELD STRUCTURE WHEN THE THRUST REVERSER HALF IS CLOSED.

IF THERE IS A CONTACT BETWEEN THE COUPLING AND THE HEAT SHIELD STRUCTURE, DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS OR THE HEAT SHIELD STRUCTURE CAN OCCUR. WHILE YOU CLOSE THE RIGHT THRUST REVERSER HALF, DO A VISUAL INSPECTION TO MAKE SURE THAT NO CONTACT OCCURS BETWEEN THE THRUST REVERSER HEAT SHIELD STRUCTURE AND THE COUPLING.

(a) Connect the top anti-ice duct (15) to the middle anti-ice duct (35). Use the coupling (20) and a AIPC 30-21-49-01-130 SEAL (25). Tighten the coupling sufficiently to hold the anti-ice duct in position.
(4) TORQUE the four engine bolts (10) to between 120 and 90 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.02 m.daN )

. Then lock the bolts with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
(5) TORQUE the nut on the coupling (20), as follows:
(a) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 85 and 70 lbf.in (0.96 and 0.79 m.daN )

(b) Lightly hit the perimeter of the coupling in several places. Use a HAMMER - FIBER, not a metal hammer.
(c) Do steps (a) and (b) above two more times. Then do step (1) again.

D. Leak Test
(1) Do the leak test of the top anti-ice duct with the engine in operation (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-790-803).
