4. Procedure
Subtask 30-21-49-420-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Pressure Tubes and Hoses
   (1) Remove the protective covers from the union on the anti-ice valve, the union on the pneumatic duct, the elbow on the fireshield, and all hoses and tubes.
NOTE: Do not torque the tube fittings or the bolts and nuts that attach the clamps until all of the tubes and hoses have been installed and the routing on the engine is correct.
PRE SB RA32030-2
   (2) Connect the upper muscle tube (55) to the union (50) on the pneumatic duct and the elbow (75) on the fireshield. Do not torque the coupling nuts.
NOTE: Do not bend the tube (70) ends to make it fit. A bend will make the tube weak. If the tube is weak, it can fail.
POST SB RA32030-2
   (3) Install the flexible hose assembly (95), as follows:
     (a) Connect the flexible hose assembly (95) to the union (50) on the pneumatic duct and the elbow (75) on the fireshield.
     (b) Put the clamp (90) on the hose (95). Attach the clamp to the bracket on the fireshield with the bolt (80) and the washer (85).
NOTE: If the clamp (90) is loose on the hose (95), wrap fiberglass adhesive tape (Material No.CP2208) around the hose to make the clamp fit tightly.
     (c) TORQUE the bolt (80) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN ) T.
     (d) Make sure that there is no preload on the hose. TORQUE the hose (95) coupling nuts to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Use a second wrench to hold the elbow on the fireshield and the union on the pneumatic duct when you torque the coupling nuts on the hose assembly.
END SB RA32030-2
   (4) Install the aft muscle pressure tube (70).
     (a) Connect the aft muscle tube (70) to the elbow (75) on the fireshield. Do not torque the coupling nut.
     (b) Put the two clamps (45) on the aft muscle tube (70). Attach the clamps to the engine-tubes fairlead brackets (two locations). Use the bolts (25), the washers (30), and nuts (35).
     (c) Put a clamp (45) on the aft muscle tube (70). Attach the clamp (45) and the clamp (65) (on the drain tube) to the bracket at engine flange STA 199 with the bolt (25) and the nut (35).
     (d) Put a clamp (45) on the aft muscle tube (70). Attach the clamp (45) to the bracket at engine flange STA 199 with the bolt (60) and the nut (35).
   (5) Install the forward muscle pressure tube (20).
     (a) Loosely install the forward muscle tube (20) on the forward anti-ice duct support bracket with the bulkhead nut (10) and the washer (15).
     (b) Put two clamps (45) on the forward muscle tube (20). Attach the clamps to the anti-ice duct tangs with the bolts (25), the washers (30), and the nuts (35).
   (6) Connect the hose (5) to the aft muscle tube (70) and the forward muscle tube (20). Do not torque the coupling nuts.
   (7) Connect the forward hose (40) to the forward muscle pressure tube (20) and to the union on the anti-ice valve (4000DN).
   (8) Make sure that all of the tubes and hoses are correctly installed on the engine.
   (9) TORQUE the nuts (35) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
T.
   (10) TORQUE the hose (55) coupling nuts to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Use a second wrench to hold the union on the pneumatic duct and the elbow on the fireshield when you torque the hose (55) coupling nuts.
   (11) TORQUE the muscle tube (70) coupling nut at the fireshield fitting to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Use a second wrench to hold the elbow on the fireshield when you torque the tube (70) coupling nut.
   (12) TORQUE the bulkhead nut (10) on the muscle tube (20) to between 120 and 110 lbf.in (1.36 and 1.24 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Hold the muscle tube (20) fitting with a second wrench when you torque the bulkhead nut (10).
   (13) TORQUE the hose (5) coupling nuts to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Use a second wrench to hold the fittings on the forward and aft muscle pressure tubes when you torque the hose (5) coupling nuts.
   (14) TORQUE the hose (40) coupling nuts to between 160 and 150 lbf.in (1.81 and 1.70 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Use a second wrench to hold the fitting on the tube (30) and the union on the anti-ice valve when you torque the hose (40) coupling nuts.
