3. Job Set-up
Subtask 30-21-49-860-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (2) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position.

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowls are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Make sure that the thrust reverser halves are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

C. Make sure that the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) is deactivated (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).
4. Procedure
Subtask 30-21-49-110-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Clean the Ends of the Duct
   (1) Remove the applicable covers/caps/plugs from the openings.
   (2) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with V01-076Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade to clean the ends of the duct.

B. Installation of the Anti-ice Duct No. 2
F Anti-ice Ducts ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Put the duct (19) with a new AIPC 30-21-49-80-080 SEAL (23) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010) on the engine in the correct position for installation.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE COUPLINGS DO NOT TOUCH ADJACENT COMPONENTS OR FAN COWL DOORS (WHEN CLOSED). DAMAGE TO COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
   (2) Connect the duct with the couplings (18) and (20). Make sure that the seal is installed correctly.
     (a) Make sure that the couplings (18) and (20) are in the correct position so that they do not touch the adjacent components.
   (3) TORQUE the coupling nuts (18) and (20) to between 55 and 45 lbf.in (0.62 and 0.51 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
Subtask 30-21-49-790-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Check of the Anti-ice Duct Installation
   (1) Make sure that the segments are correctly installed in the pylon housing and the NAI pylon duct stays aligned to the center of the fire bulkhead area, (see Detail C) given in the rigging of the anti ice ducts procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-820-001).
     (a) If the segments are not correctly installed in the pylon housing and/or the NAI pylon duct is not aligned to the center of the fire bulkhead area:
  • Go to Step (4).
     (b) If the segments are correctly installed in the pylon housing duct and the NAI pylon duct is aligned to the center of the fire bulkhead area:
  • Go to Step (2).
   (2) Make sure that all the clearances given in adjustment of the ducts of the rigging of the anti ice ducts procedure are correct (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-820-001).
     (a) If one of these clearances is not correct:
  • Go to Step (4).
     (b) If all of these clearances are correct:
  • Go to Step (3).
   (3) Do movement of the duct N°4 given in the rigging of the anti-ice ducts procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-820-001).
  • Do a check of the clearances given in the adjustment of the ducts of the rigging of the anti-ice ducts procedure around the ducts again:
     (a) If all of these clearances are correct, go to Step (5).
     (b) If one of these clearances is not correct, go to Step (4).
   (4) Do the rigging of the anti-ice ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-820-001).
   (5) Do a leak test at the couplings (18) and (20) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-790-010).
5. Close-up

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-410-010):

B. Activate the thrust reverser HCU (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-012).

   (1) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
