A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 30-21-49-010-115-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.

D. Clean the Inner and Outer Ducts and their Related Components
V01-076 Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade , to clean these components:
(a) The outer duct (43).
(b) The end fitting (44).
(c) The D-ring (45).
(d) The inner duct (46).
(e) The housing (47).
(f) The seal carrier (48).
(g) The D-ring (49).
(h) The end fitting (50).
(i) The 3-ring pack (51).
(j) The seal housing (52).
(k) The D-ring (53).
(l) The vee-flange (54).
(2) Dry the components with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
4. ProcedureWARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
(1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with (a) The outer duct (43).
(b) The end fitting (44).
(c) The D-ring (45).
(d) The inner duct (46).
(e) The housing (47).
(f) The seal carrier (48).
(g) The D-ring (49).
(h) The end fitting (50).
(i) The 3-ring pack (51).
(j) The seal housing (52).
(k) The D-ring (53).
(l) The vee-flange (54).
(2) Dry the components with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

A. Examine the Outer Duct (43)
(1) Measure the thickness of the skin on the outer duct (43):
(a) If it is a minimum thickness of 0.025 in. (0.64 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If it is less than 0.025 in. (0.64 mm) thick, reject the outer duct (43).
Subtask 30-21-49-220-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Measure the thickness of the skin on the outer duct (43):
(a) If it is a minimum thickness of 0.025 in. (0.64 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If it is less than 0.025 in. (0.64 mm) thick, reject the outer duct (43).
B. Examine the Vee-Flange Fitting (54) in the Outer Duct (43)
(1) Measure the dimension H:
(a) If dimension H is a minimum thickness of 0.123 in. (3.12 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If dimension H is less than 0.123 in. (3.12 mm), reject the outer duct (43).
(2) Measure the dimension K of the pin (55) in the vee-flange fitting (54):
(a) If dimension K is a minimum diameter of 0.085 in. (2.16 mm), this is permitted for a fly-on limit. Replace the pin (55) at the next maintenance visit, before 36 months, 12000 flight hours or 8000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
(b) If dimension K is a minimum diameter of 0.127 in. (3.23 mm), accept the damage.
(c) If the pin (55) is missing it must be replaced.
Subtask 30-21-49-220-064-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Measure the dimension H:
(a) If dimension H is a minimum thickness of 0.123 in. (3.12 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If dimension H is less than 0.123 in. (3.12 mm), reject the outer duct (43).
(2) Measure the dimension K of the pin (55) in the vee-flange fitting (54):
(a) If dimension K is a minimum diameter of 0.085 in. (2.16 mm), this is permitted for a fly-on limit. Replace the pin (55) at the next maintenance visit, before 36 months, 12000 flight hours or 8000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
(b) If dimension K is a minimum diameter of 0.127 in. (3.23 mm), accept the damage.
(c) If the pin (55) is missing it must be replaced.
C. Examine the Seal Housing (52) on the Outer Duct (43)
(1) Measure the dimension L:
(a) If dimension L is a minimum thickness of 0.202 in. (5.13 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If dimension L is less than 0.202 in. (5.13 mm), reject the outer duct (43).
(2) Measure the dimension M:
(a) If dimension M is a minimum thickness of 0.038 in. (0.97 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If dimension M is between 0.030 in. (0.76 mm) and 0.038 in. (0.97 mm), this is permitted only for a fly-on limit. Replace the outer duct (43) at the next maintenance visit, before 6 months, 1000 flight hours or 1000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
(c) If dimension M is less than 0.030 in. (0.76 mm), reject the outer duct (43).
(3) Measure the dimension N:
(a) If dimension N is a minimum thickness of 0.204 in. (5.18 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If dimension N is less than 0.204 in. (5.18 mm), reject the outer duct (43).
(4) Measure the dimension P:
(a) If dimension P is a minimum thickness of 0.124 in. (3.15 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If dimension P is less than 0.124 in. (3.15 mm), reject the outer duct (43).
Subtask 30-21-49-220-065-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Measure the dimension L:
(a) If dimension L is a minimum thickness of 0.202 in. (5.13 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If dimension L is less than 0.202 in. (5.13 mm), reject the outer duct (43).
(2) Measure the dimension M:
(a) If dimension M is a minimum thickness of 0.038 in. (0.97 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If dimension M is between 0.030 in. (0.76 mm) and 0.038 in. (0.97 mm), this is permitted only for a fly-on limit. Replace the outer duct (43) at the next maintenance visit, before 6 months, 1000 flight hours or 1000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
(c) If dimension M is less than 0.030 in. (0.76 mm), reject the outer duct (43).
(3) Measure the dimension N:
(a) If dimension N is a minimum thickness of 0.204 in. (5.18 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If dimension N is less than 0.204 in. (5.18 mm), reject the outer duct (43).
(4) Measure the dimension P:
(a) If dimension P is a minimum thickness of 0.124 in. (3.15 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If dimension P is less than 0.124 in. (3.15 mm), reject the outer duct (43).
D. Examine the Inner Duct (46)
(1) Measure the thickness of the skin on the inner duct (46):
(a) If it is a minimum thickness of 0.026 in. (0.66 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If it is less than 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) thick, reject the inner duct (46).
Subtask 30-21-49-220-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Measure the thickness of the skin on the inner duct (46):
(a) If it is a minimum thickness of 0.026 in. (0.66 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If it is less than 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) thick, reject the inner duct (46).
E. Examine the End Fittings (44) and (50) on the Inner Duct (46)
(1) Measure the wall thickness of the end fittings:
(a) If it is a minimum thickness of 0.069 in. (1.75 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If it is less than 0.069 in. (1.75 mm) thick, reject the inner duct (46).
(2) Measure the dimension R on the inner duct (46):
(a) If dimension R is a minimum thickness of 0.038 in. (0.97 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If dimension R is between 0.030 in. (0.76 mm) and 0.038 in. (0.97 mm), this is permitted only for a fly-on limit. Replace the inner duct (46) at the next maintenance visit, before 6 months, 1000 flight hours or 1000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
(3) Measure the dimension S:
(b) If dimension S is between 0.250 in. (6.35 mm) and 0.375 in. (9.53 mm), replace the inner duct (46) at the next maintenance visit, before 36 months, 12000 flight hours or 8000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
(c) If dimension S is more than 0.375 in. (9.53 mm), reject the inner duct (46).
Subtask 30-21-49-220-067-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Measure the wall thickness of the end fittings:
(a) If it is a minimum thickness of 0.069 in. (1.75 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If it is less than 0.069 in. (1.75 mm) thick, reject the inner duct (46).
(2) Measure the dimension R on the inner duct (46):
(a) If dimension R is a minimum thickness of 0.038 in. (0.97 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If dimension R is between 0.030 in. (0.76 mm) and 0.038 in. (0.97 mm), this is permitted only for a fly-on limit. Replace the inner duct (46) at the next maintenance visit, before 6 months, 1000 flight hours or 1000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
(3) Measure the dimension S:
NOTE: If the end fitting (44) is not satisfactory and the end fitting (50) is satisfactory, you can install the inner duct (46) in the opposite direction. Ref Inlet Cowl CMM - Repair VRS2782.
(a) If dimension S is less than 0.250 in. (6.35 mm), accept the damage. (b) If dimension S is between 0.250 in. (6.35 mm) and 0.375 in. (9.53 mm), replace the inner duct (46) at the next maintenance visit, before 36 months, 12000 flight hours or 8000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
(c) If dimension S is more than 0.375 in. (9.53 mm), reject the inner duct (46).
F. Examine the Housing (47) at the Forward Bulkhead
(1) Measure the wall thickness of the housing:
(a) If it is a minimum thickness of 0.074 in. (1.88 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If it is less than 0.074 in. (1.88 mm), reject the inlet cowl.
Subtask 30-21-49-220-068-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Measure the wall thickness of the housing:
(a) If it is a minimum thickness of 0.074 in. (1.88 mm), accept the damage.
(b) If it is less than 0.074 in. (1.88 mm), reject the inlet cowl.
G. Examine the Seal Carrier (48) at the Forward Bulkhead
(1) If wear is on more than 50% of the circumference of the seal carrier (48), measure the dimensions that follow:
(a) Dimension T:
1 If dimension T is a minimum thickness of 0.030 in. (0.76 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension T is less than 0.030 in. (0.76 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
(b) Dimension U:
1 If dimension U is a minimum thickness of 0.088 in. (2.24 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension U is less than 0.088 in. (2.24 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
(c) Dimension V:
1 If dimension V is a minimum thickness of 0.153 in. (3.89 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension V is less than 0.153 in. (3.89 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
(2) If wear is on less than 50% of the circumference of the seal carrier (48), measure the dimensions that follow:
(a) Dimension T with the D-ring (49) missing:
1 If dimension T is a minimum thickness of 0.030 in. (0.76 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension T is less than 0.030 in. (0.76 mm) thick, install a new D-ring (49).
(b) Dimension T with the D-ring (49) installed:
1 Dimension T is permitted to be completely worn away.
(c) Dimension U with the D-ring (49) missing:
1 If dimension U is a minimum thickness of 0.088 in. (2.24 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension U is between 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) and 0.088 in. (2.24 mm) thick, install a new D-ring (49).
3 If dimension U is less than 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
(d) Dimension U with the D-ring (49) installed:
1 If dimension U is a minimum thickness of 0.026 in. (0.66 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension U is less than 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
(e) Dimension V with the D-ring (49) missing:
1 If dimension V is a minimum thickness of 0.118 in. (3.00 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension V is between 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) and 0.118 in. (3.00 mm) thick, install a new D-ring (49).
3 If dimension V is less than 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
(f) Dimension V with the D-ring (49) installed:
1 If dimension V is a minimum thickness of 0.026 in. (0.66 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension V is less than 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
Subtask 30-21-49-220-069-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If wear is on more than 50% of the circumference of the seal carrier (48), measure the dimensions that follow:
(a) Dimension T:
1 If dimension T is a minimum thickness of 0.030 in. (0.76 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension T is less than 0.030 in. (0.76 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
(b) Dimension U:
1 If dimension U is a minimum thickness of 0.088 in. (2.24 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension U is less than 0.088 in. (2.24 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
(c) Dimension V:
1 If dimension V is a minimum thickness of 0.153 in. (3.89 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension V is less than 0.153 in. (3.89 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
(2) If wear is on less than 50% of the circumference of the seal carrier (48), measure the dimensions that follow:
(a) Dimension T with the D-ring (49) missing:
1 If dimension T is a minimum thickness of 0.030 in. (0.76 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension T is less than 0.030 in. (0.76 mm) thick, install a new D-ring (49).
(b) Dimension T with the D-ring (49) installed:
1 Dimension T is permitted to be completely worn away.
(c) Dimension U with the D-ring (49) missing:
1 If dimension U is a minimum thickness of 0.088 in. (2.24 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension U is between 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) and 0.088 in. (2.24 mm) thick, install a new D-ring (49).
3 If dimension U is less than 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
(d) Dimension U with the D-ring (49) installed:
1 If dimension U is a minimum thickness of 0.026 in. (0.66 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension U is less than 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
(e) Dimension V with the D-ring (49) missing:
1 If dimension V is a minimum thickness of 0.118 in. (3.00 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension V is between 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) and 0.118 in. (3.00 mm) thick, install a new D-ring (49).
3 If dimension V is less than 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
(f) Dimension V with the D-ring (49) installed:
1 If dimension V is a minimum thickness of 0.026 in. (0.66 mm), accept the damage.
2 If dimension V is less than 0.026 in. (0.66 mm) thick, replace the air intake cowl (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-000-010) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-11-11-400-010).
H. Examine the 3-Ring Pack (51)
(1) Measure the dimension W:
(a) If dimension W is a minimum of 0.048 in. (1.22 mm), this is permitted for a fly-on limit. Replace the 3-ring pack at the next maintenance visit, before 36 months, 12000 flight hours or 8000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
(b) If dimension W is a minimum thickness of 0.053 in. (1.35 mm), accept the damage.
Subtask 30-21-49-220-070-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Measure the dimension W:
(a) If dimension W is a minimum of 0.048 in. (1.22 mm), this is permitted for a fly-on limit. Replace the 3-ring pack at the next maintenance visit, before 36 months, 12000 flight hours or 8000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
(b) If dimension W is a minimum thickness of 0.053 in. (1.35 mm), accept the damage.
I. Examine the D-Rings (45), (49) and (53)
(1) Measure the dimension X:
(a) If dimension X is a minimum thickness of 0.048 in. (1.22 mm), this is permitted for a fly-on limit. Replace the D-ring at the next maintenance visit, before 36 months, 12000 flight hours or 8000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
(b) If dimension X is a minimum thickness of 0.053 in. (1.35 mm), accept the damage.
5. Close-up(1) Measure the dimension X:
(a) If dimension X is a minimum thickness of 0.048 in. (1.22 mm), this is permitted for a fly-on limit. Replace the D-ring at the next maintenance visit, before 36 months, 12000 flight hours or 8000 flight cycles, whichever occurs first.
(b) If dimension X is a minimum thickness of 0.053 in. (1.35 mm), accept the damage.
