3. Job Set-up
Subtask 30-21-49-860-067-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (2) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.

B. Make sure that the fan cowls are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

C. Clean the Ends of the Duct
   (1) Remove the applicable COVER - BLANKING from the openings.
   (2) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with V01-076Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade to clean the ends of the ducts and their mating surfaces.
4. Procedure
Subtask 30-21-49-420-073-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Assemble the Inner Duct (47) and the Outer Duct (42)
   (1) If necessary, install the D-rings (48) and (50), and the 3-ring pack (43) on the outer duct (42).
   (2) Put the inner duct (47) into the outer duct (42). Make sure that the inner duct (47) engages on the D-ring (50).

B. Installation of the Inner Duct (47) and the Outer Duct (42)
   (1) If necessary, install the D-ring (46) on the spray ring (44).
   (2) Put your hand into the air exhaust (49) and hold the inner duct (47).
   (3) Hold the inner duct (47) and the outer duct (42) together and put them into the air intake cowl through the opening for the TAI access panel (37).
   (4) Align the air exhaust (49) with the TAI access panel (37).
   (5) Push the inner duct (47) and the outer duct (42) into the spray ring (44).
   (6) Make sure that the inner duct is correctly engaged with the D-rings (46) and (50).
   (7) Make sure that the outer duct (42) is correctly engaged with the D-ring (48) and the 3-ring pack (43).

C. Installation of the Two Half Locating Plates (34) and (39)
   (1) Put the half locating plate (39) in the correct position for installation on the rear bulkhead (35). Make sure that it is engaged in the outer duct (42).
   (2) Loosely install the bolts (40).
   (3) Put the half locating plate (34) in the correct position for installation on the rear bulkhead (35). Make sure that it is engaged in the outer duct (42).
   (4) Loosely install the bolts (41).
   (5) Hold the half locating plates (34) and (39) together.
   (6) TORQUE the bolts (40) and (41) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013)
Subtask 30-21-49-220-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Measurement of the Inner Duct Movement
   (1) Put your hand through the air exhaust (49) and move the inner duct (47). Move the inner duct (47) to the spray ring (44) and then to the half locating plates (34) and (39).
   (2) Make sure that the total movement is a minimum of 0.250 in. (6.35 mm).

E. Install the coupling that attaches the Anti-ice Interbulkhead System to the Anti-ice Duct 5 (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-49-400-014)

F. Installation of the Thermal Anti-Ice (TAI) access panel (37)
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE OUTER DUCT SEAL (38) IS CORRECTLY ALIGNED WITH THE OUTER DUCT (42) AND TOUCHES IT ALL AROUND.
   (1) Install the TAI access panel (37) to the outer duct (42).
   (2) Install the bolts (36).
   (3) TORQUE the bolts (36) to between 28.6 and 23.4 lbf.in (0.32 and 0.26 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013)
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
