A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring and to stop the electrical supply to the Electronic Engine Control (EEC)

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the right fan cowl door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the right fan cowl door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 30-21-24-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Installation of the Nacelle Anti-Ice Fan Case Thermocouple
(1) Removal of the protection covers
(2) Install the fan case thermocouple (1) 4001DD.
(a) Remove the protective caps from the 4113VC-A electrical connector and the connector on the fan case harness.
(b) Connection of the 4113VC-A electrical connector
(c) Attach the thermocouple end of the fan case thermocouple (1) to the electrical bracket on the fan case. Use the two bolts (5) and two washers (6).
(d) TORQUE the bolts (5) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )

(e) Attach the fan case thermocouple (1) to the electrical brackets on the fan case. Use the three bolts (4), three washers (3), and three clamps (2).
(f) Make sure there is a maximum clearance between the fan case thermocouple (1) and adjacent components.
(g) Adjust the fan case thermocouple (1) to keep the preload to a minimum. TORQUE the bolts (4) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )

Subtask 30-21-24-720-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL 5. Close-up(1) Removal of the protection covers
CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine and adjacent components. (2) Install the fan case thermocouple (1) 4001DD.
(a) Remove the protective caps from the 4113VC-A electrical connector and the connector on the fan case harness.
(b) Connection of the 4113VC-A electrical connector
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR IS CLEAN BEFORE YOU CONNECT IT. DIRTY ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE THE THERMOCOUPLE TO OPERATE INCORRECTLY.
CAUTION:
USE PLIERS THAT HAVE TEFLON JAWS TO TIGHTEN OR LOOSEN THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE PLIERS THAT HAVE METAL JAWS. METAL JAWS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS.
1 Connect the 4113VC-A electrical connector on the fan case thermocouple (1) to the connector on the fan case harness. Tighten the connector with your fingers. Then tighten the connector 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn more with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT. (c) Attach the thermocouple end of the fan case thermocouple (1) to the electrical bracket on the fan case. Use the two bolts (5) and two washers (6).
(d) TORQUE the bolts (5) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )
. (e) Attach the fan case thermocouple (1) to the electrical brackets on the fan case. Use the three bolts (4), three washers (3), and three clamps (2).
(f) Make sure there is a maximum clearance between the fan case thermocouple (1) and adjacent components.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the right fan cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence
(Ref. AMM TASK 73-25-34-400-802).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the right fan cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence
