Removal of the Pylon Manifold
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001)
(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001)
(3) Make sure that the flaps are in the fully retracted position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).

(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system

(3) Make sure that the flaps are in the fully retracted position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
B. Safety Precautions

- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
(3) On the ground-service panel of the Green hydraulic system:
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
- Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(6) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
(7) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
- Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
D. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the rear pylon.

Subtask 29-11-16-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Pylon Manifold
(1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the pylon manifold (6) to collect the remaining fluid.
(2) Remove the engine-pump pressure switch (3) from the pylon manifold (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-17-000-802).
(3) Disconnection of the tubes
(b) Disconnect the tubes (4),(5) and (8) from the pylon manifold (6).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Remove the bolts (1), the washers (2) and the nuts (7).
(6) Remove the pylon manifold (6) from the pylon.
(1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the pylon manifold (6) to collect the remaining fluid.
(2) Remove the engine-pump pressure switch (3) from the pylon manifold (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-17-000-802).
(3) Disconnection of the tubes
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(a) Install a WRENCH - CROWFOOT on the flats of the pylon manifold (6) to hold it. - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(b) Disconnect the tubes (4),(5) and (8) from the pylon manifold (6).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Remove the bolts (1), the washers (2) and the nuts (7).
(6) Remove the pylon manifold (6) from the pylon.
