MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

(1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position. (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Make sure that the flaps are extended at position 1 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(3) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002) is on the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
Subtask 27-51-44-869-053-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make sure that the lower kink seal, the cushion seals and the upper kink seals are removed from the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-000-002). (2) Make sure that the flaps are extended at position 1 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(3) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002) is on the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
- For the left wing, below zone 580
- For the right wing, below zone 680.
C. Flight Configuration Precautions
(1) If you did not de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits, make sure that the flight configuration precautions are done (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 27-51-44-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .

B. Installation of the Proximity Sensor
(1) Put the applicable proximity sensor (1) in position on the bracket (3) as follows:
(a) FOR [37CV] (SENSOR-L FLAP ATTACHMENT FAILURE DETECTION), [38CV] (SENSOR-R FLAP ATTACHMENT FAILURE DETECTION)
1 Install the bolts (5), washers (4) and nuts (2). Do not tighten the nuts (2).
(2) Put the applicable proximity sensor (14) in position on the bracket (8) as follows:
(a) FOR [39CV] (SENSOR-L FLAP ATTACHMENT FAILURE DETECTION), [40CV] (SENSOR-R FLAP ATTACHMENT FAILURE DETECTION)
1 Install the bolts (6), washers (7) and nuts (9). Do not tighten the nuts (9).
(3) Install the 98D27504031000 PIN-SETTING in the interconnecting strut (15).
(4) Make sure that dimension X is between 0.3 mm (0.012 in.) and 0.7 mm (0.028 in.).
(5) Tighten the applicable nuts (2) and (9).
(6) Make sure that dimension X has stayed correct.
(7) Remove CAP - BLANKING from the receptacles (10) and (13).
(8) Connect the applicable electrical connector (11) and (12).
(9) Remove the 98D27504031000 PIN-SETTING from the interconnecting strut (15).
(10) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the slat/flap control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002).
(11) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 27-51-44-420-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the applicable proximity sensor (1) in position on the bracket (3) as follows:

B. Installation of the Proximity Sensor
(1) Put the applicable proximity sensor (15) in position on the bracket (2) as follows:
(a) FOR [37CV] (SENSOR-L FLAP ATTACHMENT FAILURE DETECTION), [38CV] (SENSOR-R FLAP ATTACHMENT FAILURE DETECTION)
1 Install the bolts (4), washers (3) and nuts (1). Do not tighten the nuts (1).
(2) Put the applicable proximity sensor (13) in position on the bracket (7) as follows:
(a) FOR [39CV] (SENSOR-L FLAP ATTACHMENT FAILURE DETECTION), [40CV] (SENSOR-R FLAP ATTACHMENT FAILURE DETECTION)
1 Install the bolts (5), washers (6) and nuts (10). Do not tighten the nuts (10).
(3) Install the 98D27504031000 PIN-SETTING in the interconnecting strut (14).
(4) Make sure that dimension "X" is between 0.3 mm (0.012 in.) and 0.7 mm (0.028 in.).
(5) Tighten the applicable nuts (1) and (10).
(6) Make sure that dimension "X" has stayed correct.
(7) Remove the blanking cap from the receptacles (8) and (9).
(8) Connect the applicable electrical connector (11) and (12).
(9) Remove the 98D27504031000 PIN-SETTING from the interconnecting strut (14).
(10) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the slat/flap control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002).
(11) Remove the access platform(s).
