3. Job Set-up
Subtask 27-44-51-860-072-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the access door 312AR.
   (2) Make sure that the access door 312AR is open.
   (3) Make sure that the 98D27403500000 PITCH TRIM CONTROL LOCKING is installed on the pitch-trim control wheel.
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the pitch controls.
   (5) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized and put them in the maintenance configuration
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (6) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green, the Yellow and the Blue hydraulic systems:
  • in the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
  • on the ground service panels of the Green, the Yellow and the Blue hydraulic systems.

4. Procedure
Subtask 27-44-51-420-056-A
A. Installation of the Electrical Load Sensing Device (ELSD)
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
   (4) Put the bushes (14) on the axes of the ELSD (11).
   (5) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the outside diameter of the bushes (14).
   (6) Make sure that the O-rings (6) are in the correct condition and in the correct position on the axes of the ELSD (11).
   (7) Carefully connect the ELSD (11) with the bushes (14) to the secondary upper attachment (5) and the structure lug (1).
   (8) Install the spring boxes (4), the new AIPC 27-44-04-03-480 WASHER (3) and the nuts (2) on the axes of the ELSD (11).
   (9) TORQUE the nuts (2) to between 5 and 4 m.N (44.25 and 35.40 lbf.in )
T.
   (10) To safety the nuts (2), bend two adjacent teeth together with their two opposite adjacent teeth on each locking washer (3).
   (11) Install the bonding strap (10):
     (a) Install the bolt (9), the lanyard of protective cap EN3645-F3B0 (8) and the bonding strap (10) through the hole of the ELSD (11).
     (b) Install the washer (12) and the nut (13) on the bolt (9).
     (c) Tighten the nut (13).
   (12) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (13) Make sure that protective cap EN3645-F3B0 (8) and the test plug (7) are correctly installed.
Subtask 27-44-51-420-056-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Electrical Load Sensing Device (ELSD)
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
   (4) Put the bushes (14) on the axes of the ELSD (11).
   (5) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the outside diameter of the bushes (14).
   (6) Make sure that the O-rings (6) are in the correct condition and in the correct position on the axes of the ELSD (11).
   (7) Carefully connect the ELSD (11) with the bushes (14) to the secondary upper attachment (5) and the structure lug (1).
   (8) Install the spring boxes (4), the new AIPC 27-44-04-03-480 WASHER (3) and the nuts (2) on the axes of the ELSD (11).
   (9) TORQUE the nuts (2) to between 5 and 4 m.N (44.25 and 35.40 lbf.in )
T.
   (10) To safety the nuts (2), bend two adjacent teeth together with their two opposite adjacent teeth on each locking washer (3).
   (11) Install the bonding strap (10):
     (a) Install the bolt (9) and the bonding strap (10) through the hole of the ELSD (11).
     (b) Install the washer (12) and the nut (13) on the bolt (9).
     (c) Tighten the nut (13).
   (12) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (13) Connect the electrical connector (8):
     (a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
     (b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Connect the electrical connector (8) to the ELSD (11).
   (14) Make sure that the test plug (7) is correctly installed.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Test
   (1) Do the operational check of THS actuator ELSD (Ref. AMM TASK 27-44-51-710-802).

D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Remove the 98D27403500000 PITCH TRIM CONTROL LOCKING from the pitch-trim control wheel in the flight compartment.
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access door 312AR.
   (3) Remove the access platform.
