WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE/CRANK/NORM/IGN/START selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the ENG section of the maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

J. deactivation of the Thrust Reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU)
Subtask 26-12-16-010-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust Reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) 4101KS (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). K. Open the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):

(1) Remove the support with the pylon fire detectors (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-16-000-002).
4. Procedure(1) Remove the support with the pylon fire detectors (Ref. AMM TASK 26-12-16-000-002).
Subtask 26-12-16-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Pylon Fire Detector.
(1) Disconnect the connectors (7).
(a) Put CAP - BLANKING on the electrical connectors (7) and on the responders (11).
(2) Turn the fasteners (1) one quarter turn and open the clamps (2).
(3) Remove the screws (8) and the washers (9).
(4) Remove the responders (11) and the sensing elements (4).
Subtask 26-12-16-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the connectors (7).
(a) Put CAP - BLANKING on the electrical connectors (7) and on the responders (11).
(2) Turn the fasteners (1) one quarter turn and open the clamps (2).
(3) Remove the screws (8) and the washers (9).
(4) Remove the responders (11) and the sensing elements (4).
A. Removal of the Fire Detectors
(2) Turn the quarter-turn fasteners (10) by one quarter of a turn and open the clamps (11).
(3) Remove the two bolts (4) and washers (3) from each responder unit (2).
(4) Remove the two responder units (2) and the related sensing elements (9) from the rail assembly (1).
(6) Remove the two clamps (5) from each responder unit (2).
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE QUARTER-TURN FASTENER ON THE FIRE DETECTOR CLAMP. ONLY USE A MANUAL SCREWDRIVER. ELECTRICAL OR PNEUMATIC TOOLS WILL CAUSE THE FASTENER TO TURN TOO MUCH AND POSSIBLY TO BREAK.
CAUTION:
DO NOT BEND THE MANIFOLD OF THE SENSING ELEMENT. IF YOU BEND IT, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE WELDING.
(1) Turn the quarter-turn fastener (6) by one quarter of a turn and open the clamp (7). (2) Turn the quarter-turn fasteners (10) by one quarter of a turn and open the clamps (11).
(3) Remove the two bolts (4) and washers (3) from each responder unit (2).
(4) Remove the two responder units (2) and the related sensing elements (9) from the rail assembly (1).
NOTE: The grommet (8) and the grommets (12) are installed on the sensing element (2).
(5) Remove the grommet (8) and the grommets (12) from the sensing element (2). (6) Remove the two clamps (5) from each responder unit (2).
Pylon Fire Detectors - Location and Installation
