   (2) Open the door(s)/access panel(s) of the stowage compartment(s).
   (3) If necessary, release/open the strap/clamp.
   (4) Remove the ELT(s) from the stowage compartment(s).

CAUTION: DO THE TEST IN THE SCREENED ROOM. IF THE SCREENED ROOM IS NOT AVAILABLE, DO THE TEST DURING THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES AFTER THE HOUR. (BETWEEN XX.00 HRS AND XX:05 HRS) IF YOU MUST DO THE TEST AT A DIFFERENT TIME, FIRST TELL THE NEAREST AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL FACILITY TO IGNORE THE SIGNAL DURING THE TEST. MAKE SURE THAT THE TEST SIGNAL IS NOT LONGER THAN THREE TONES. THIS IS TO PREVENT UNWANTED RESCUE OPERATIONS.
   (1) Send the ELT to the workshop for a visual inspection, a battery check and a functional test of the ELT.

   (1) Do a check of the ELT attachment (strap, clamp, bag) for wear, contamination and environmental degradation. Make sure that the attachment is in a serviceable condition.
   (2) Install a serviceable or replacement ELT(s).
   (3) Attach/close the strap/clamp.
   (4) Close the door(s)/access panel(s) of the stowage compartment(s).
   (5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

   (1) Install a serviceable or replacement ELT(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-32-400-001).
