Subtask 25-65-32-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Subtask 25-65-32-560-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) Do a check of the ELT attachment (strap, bracket and bag) for wear, contamination and environmental degradation. Make sure that the ELT attachment is in the serviceable condition.
(2) If the safety pin (2) is installed, make sure that you do not remove it.
(a) Disconnect the water switch sensor (4) from the RC connector (5).
(b) Connect the programming dongle (3) to the RC connector (5) and transfer the aircraft registration code/number (ICAO) to the ELT (1).
(c) Do the BITE test (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-740-002).
(d) Disconnect the programming dongle (3) from the RC connector (5).
(e) Stow the programming dongle (3) in the applicable compartment in the bracket or in the bag.
(f) Connect the water switch sensor (4) to the RC connector (5).
(a) If there are special local requirements or customer operational procedures, refer to them for the correct position of the toggle switch (OFF or ARM).
(5) Install the ELT (1).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) For the location of the ELT, refer to Para. Component Location (Ref. AMM D/O 25-65-00-00).

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) If the aircraft registration code/number (ICAO) is changed, refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-840-001).

B. Installation of the Portable ELT
(2) If removed, install the activation/identification module (2):
(a) Make sure that the O-ring seal (3) is in a correct and serviceable condition.
(c) Apply Silicone base Grease-General Purpose - - (Material No.03JBA1) to the O-ring seal (3) and put it in the position on the ELT (5).
(d) Carefully put the activation/identification module (2) with the lanyard (4) in position.
(e) Install the screws (1).
(f) TORQUE the screws (1) to between 0.055 and 0.045 m.daN (4.87 and 3.98 lbf.in )

(3) Do the BITE test (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-740-002).
(4) Set the toggle switch (6) to the ARM position.
(a) If there are specific local requirements or customer operational procedures, refer to them for the correct position of the toggle switch (OFF or ARM).
(5) Install the ELT (5):
Subtask 25-65-32-420-050-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
PULL THE TOGGLE SWITCH BEFORE YOU SET IT TO THE "ON", "OFF" OR "ARMED" POSITION. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER.
(1) Do a check of the ELT attachment (strap, clamp, bag) for wear, contamination and environmental degradation. Make sure that the attachment is in a serviceable condition. (2) If removed, install the activation/identification module (2):
(a) Make sure that the O-ring seal (3) is in a correct and serviceable condition.
NOTE: You can use the O-ring seal (3) more than one time. It must be replaced after 5 years when you do the servicing of the battery.
(b) If you must install a new O-ring seal, use the AIPC 25-65-32-10-070 O-RING SEAL FROM THE IDENTIFICATION-MODULE SERVICING KIT (3). (c) Apply Silicone base Grease-General Purpose - - (Material No.03JBA1) to the O-ring seal (3) and put it in the position on the ELT (5).
(d) Carefully put the activation/identification module (2) with the lanyard (4) in position.
(e) Install the screws (1).
(f) TORQUE the screws (1) to between 0.055 and 0.045 m.daN (4.87 and 3.98 lbf.in )
. (3) Do the BITE test (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-740-002).
(4) Set the toggle switch (6) to the ARM position.
(a) If there are specific local requirements or customer operational procedures, refer to them for the correct position of the toggle switch (OFF or ARM).
(5) Install the ELT (5):
- Attach/close the strap/clamp.
- Put the ELT in the related bag, if available.
CAUTION:
DO NOT SET THE EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER TOGGLE SWITCH TO THE "ON" POSITION. THIS IS TO PREVENT UNWANTED SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATIONS.
B. Installation of the Portable ELT (1) Do a check of the ELT attachment (strap, bracket and bag) for wear, contamination and environmental degradation. Make sure that the ELT attachment is in the serviceable condition.
(2) If the safety pin (2) is installed, make sure that you do not remove it.
NOTE: The safety pin does not let you set the toggle switch to ON.
(3) If a programming dongle (3) is available: (a) Disconnect the water switch sensor (4) from the RC connector (5).
(b) Connect the programming dongle (3) to the RC connector (5) and transfer the aircraft registration code/number (ICAO) to the ELT (1).
(c) Do the BITE test (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-740-002).
(d) Disconnect the programming dongle (3) from the RC connector (5).
(e) Stow the programming dongle (3) in the applicable compartment in the bracket or in the bag.
(f) Connect the water switch sensor (4) to the RC connector (5).
CAUTION:
PULL THE TOGGLE SWITCH BEFORE YOU SET IT TO THE "ON", "OFF" OR "ARMED" POSITION. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER.
(4) Set the toggle switch (6) to ARM. (a) If there are special local requirements or customer operational procedures, refer to them for the correct position of the toggle switch (OFF or ARM).
(5) Install the ELT (1).
NOTE: The ELT is installed in a bag or in a bracket with a strap.
(6) For the bracket installation, make sure that the ELT is installed correctly and that the strap (8) holds the antenna (7). B. Installation of the Portable ELT
(1) Do a check of the ELT attachment (strap, clamp and bag) for wear, contamination and environmental degradation. Make sure that the ELT attachment is in the serviceable condition.
(2) Put the serviceable ELT (1) in position into the bracket (4).
(3) Do the BITE test of the ELT (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-740-002).
(4) Close the strap (2) of the bracket (4) and attach the strap (2) to the pin (3).
(5) Install a new seal (5) to the pin (3) and safety the strap (2).
5. Close-up(1) Do a check of the ELT attachment (strap, clamp and bag) for wear, contamination and environmental degradation. Make sure that the ELT attachment is in the serviceable condition.
(2) Put the serviceable ELT (1) in position into the bracket (4).
(3) Do the BITE test of the ELT (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-65-00-740-002).
(4) Close the strap (2) of the bracket (4) and attach the strap (2) to the pin (3).
(5) Install a new seal (5) to the pin (3) and safety the strap (2).
