A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door is opened (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the opening applicable cargo compartment door.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position at the control panel for the forward cargo loading system.

4. Procedure

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the thread of the screws.

B. Installation of the Joystick
(1) Put the joystick (3) in the control panel (7).
(2) Carefully pull the joystick (3) through the hole in the control panel.
(3) Make sure that the location pin (5) is in the hole (6).
(4) Install the screws (4).
(5) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (1) and the receptacle (2).
(6) Connect the electrical connector (1) to the receptacle (2).
(7) Install the control panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-52-67-400-001).

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Preparation for the Test
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Lower the latching element of XZ-single latches 32 in the cargo compartment.
(3) Lower the YZ-latch on each door sill latch. Electrical power is available to the control panel 2020VU1 or 2020VU2.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

E. Do this Test

ACTION	RESULT
1.On control panel 2020VU1 or 2020VU2: Set POWER ON/OFF switch 5MY to ON.	On control panel 2020VU1 or 2020VU2: POWER ON/OFF indicator light 7MY comes on. Power is supplied to the cargo conveyance controls.
2.On control panel 2020VU1 or 2020VU2: Push joystick 4MY to IN and hold. Release the joystick. Push the joystick to the OUT position and hold. Release the joystick.	In the ball mat area: The rollers of the transversal power drive unit turn in the load direction. The rollers of the transversal power drive unit stop. The rollers of the transversal power drive unit turn in the unload direction. The rollers of the transversal power drive unit stop.
3.On control panel 2020VU1 or 2020VU2: Push the joystick to the forward position and hold. Release the joystick. Push the joystick to the aft direction and hold. Release the joystick.	On the cargo compartment floor: The rollers of each longitudinal power drive unit turn in the forward direction. The rollers of each longitudinal power drive unit stop. The rollers of each longitudinal power drive unit turn in the aft direction. The rollers of the longitudinal power drive unit stop.
4.On control panel 2020VU1 or 2020VU2: Put the DOOR SILL LATCH switch to the DOWN position and hold. Release the DOOR SILL LATCH switch.	On the door sill latches: The overridable Y-latch lowers. The overridable Y-latch comes up and locks in the fully lifted position.
5.On control panel 2020VU1 or 2020VU2: Set POWER ON/OFF switch 5MY to OFF.	On control panel 2020VU1 or 2020VU2: POWER ON/OFF indicator light 7MY goes off. The power supply to the cargo conveyance controls is stopped.
6.On the door sill latches: Lift the YZ-latches.	On control panel 2020VU1 or 2020VU2: The power supply to control panel 2020VU1 or 2020VU2 is stopped.

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Close the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(4) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
