A. Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Get Access
   (1) Get access to the applicable cargo compartment linings (Ref. AMM TASK 25-50-00-200-024).
4. Procedure

A. Identification of the Damage Limits
   (1) Identify the damage limits (Ref. AMM TASK 25-50-00-200-024):
     (a) Do the repair if the length of a damaged area is more than 25 mm (0.98 in.) and:
  • The minimum distance to second damaged area or repaired area in the same panel is 50 mm (1.97 in.).
  • If the distance to second damaged area is less than 50 mm (1.97 in.), these damaged areas should be considered as a single damage.

B. Repair of the edge(s) of the Cargo Compartment Lining with Filler
   (1) Do the repair of the lining panel edge(s) as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 25-50-00-340-003).

C. Temporary Repair of a Ceiling Panel Interface with a Retardant Strip
   (1) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (2) Cut the new retardant strip Adhesive Tape-Fire Blocking - Furnishing (Material No.05TLA6) (ABS5027C15-05).
   (3) Make sure that there is an overlap of 50.0 mm (2.0 in.) on each side of the repaired area.
   (4) Remove the protective paper and put the new retardant strip in position on the repaired edge of the panel.
   (5) Replace the temporary repair with the permanent repair solution (Para D.) at the next maintenance visit, before 6 months, 1000 FH or 1000 FC, whichever occurs first.

D. Permanent Repair of a Ceiling Panel Interface with a Retardant Strip
   (1) Prepare the repaired edge:
     (a) Remove the used foam strip in the area of the repair as necessary.
     (b) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
     (c) Carefully mill a recess of 2.0 +0.5 mm or -0 mm (0.0787 +0.0197 in. or +0.0000 in.) dimension A and 5.0 +0.5 mm or -0 mm (0.1969 +0.0197 in. or +0.0000 in.) dimension B along the edge as necessary.
   (2) Install the new retardant strip:
     (a) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
     (b) Cut the new retardant strip Adhesive Tape-Fire Blocking - Furnishing (Material No.05TLA6) (ABS5027C15-05).
     (c) Make sure that there is an overlap of 50.0 mm (2.0 in.) on each side of the repaired area.
     (d) Remove the protective paper and put the new retardant strip in position on the milled edge of the panel.
   (3) Install the new foam strip:
     (a) Install the new foam strip with an overlap of 100.0 mm (4.0 in.) on each side of the repaired area.
     (b) Remove the protective paper from the new foam strip.
     (c) Carefully put the new foam strip with Sealing Profile-- Silicone Foam - (Material No.14JAB1) in position on the edge of the panel.
NOTE: It is necessary to make sure that you not pull on the foam strip during the installation.
     (d) Make sure that the distance between two pieces of foam strip is less than 0.5 mm (0.02 in.).
     (e) If you put the foam tape on the attachment holes of the panel, make holes with a PUNCH - PIN.
NOTE: Diameter of the hole in the new foam strip is 12.0 mm (0.5 in.).
5. Close-up

A. Close-up
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
   (3) Close access to the cargo compartment linings (Ref. AMM TASK 25-50-00-200-024).

B. De-energize the ground service network
