Installation of the Terminal Block (Pylon Side)
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch is in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 24-21-62-865-051-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position on the left side of the engine.
(a) Make sure that the COVER - PROTECTION is(are) in position on the openings of the engine.
Subtask 24-21-62-040-051-A (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position on the left side of the engine.
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(3) Installation of the protection covers:(a) Make sure that the COVER - PROTECTION is(are) in position on the openings of the engine.
D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
4. ProcedureWARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM D/O 78-30-00-48).Subtask 24-21-62-420-052-A
A. Installation of the Terminal Block (Pylon Side)
(2) Put the terminal block (8) in position on the support bracket (4).
(3) Install the bolts (3) on the support bracket (4) to attach the terminal block (8).
(4) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )

(5) Connect the set of power feeder cables (7) as follows:
(a) Carefully engage the set of power feeder cables (7) on the top half of the bar clamp (6).
(b) Put the ends of the set of power feeder cables (7) on the studs of the terminal block (8).
(d) Make sure that the bar clamp (6) is in the correct position on the support bracket (4).
(e) Tighten the bolts (5) to attach the bar clamp (6) to the support bracket (4).
(f) Torque the nuts (9) to between 1.90 and 1.63 m.daN (14.01 and 12.02 lbf.ft )

(g) Torque the bolts (5) to between 0.79 and 0.68 m.daN (69.91 and 60.18 lbf.in )
.
(6) Install the terminal block cover (1) as follows:
(a) Lubricate the threads of the terminal block cover-screws (2) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(b) Put the terminal block cover (1) in position on the terminal block (8).
(c) TORQUE the terminal block cover-screws (2) to between 0.11 and 0.09 m.daN (9.73 and 7.96 lbf.in )

Subtask 24-21-62-440-050-A CAUTION:
REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES.
INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (3) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .(2) Put the terminal block (8) in position on the support bracket (4).
(3) Install the bolts (3) on the support bracket (4) to attach the terminal block (8).
(4) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 124 and 106 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
. (5) Connect the set of power feeder cables (7) as follows:
(a) Carefully engage the set of power feeder cables (7) on the top half of the bar clamp (6).
(b) Put the ends of the set of power feeder cables (7) on the studs of the terminal block (8).
NOTE: The identification numbers on the power feeder cables (7) must align with the identification numbers on the terminal block (8).
(c) Install the nuts (9) to connect the set of power feeder cables (7) to the terminal block (8). (d) Make sure that the bar clamp (6) is in the correct position on the support bracket (4).
(e) Tighten the bolts (5) to attach the bar clamp (6) to the support bracket (4).
(f) Torque the nuts (9) to between 1.90 and 1.63 m.daN (14.01 and 12.02 lbf.ft )
.(g) Torque the bolts (5) to between 0.79 and 0.68 m.daN (69.91 and 60.18 lbf.in )
.(6) Install the terminal block cover (1) as follows:
(a) Lubricate the threads of the terminal block cover-screws (2) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(b) Put the terminal block cover (1) in position on the terminal block (8).
(c) TORQUE the terminal block cover-screws (2) to between 0.11 and 0.09 m.daN (9.73 and 7.96 lbf.in )
.B. Reactivation of the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 24-21-62-410-053-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make the thrust reverser serviceable after maintenance (Ref. AMM D/O 78-30-00-08).C. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(a) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION from the openings of the engine.
(3) Remove the access platform (s).
(4) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):

Subtask 24-21-62-710-052-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(2) Removal of the protection covers:(a) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION from the openings of the engine.
(3) Remove the access platform (s).
(4) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

D. Test
(1) Remove the warning notice(s).
(2) Do the Electronic Instrument System (EIS) start procedure (upper and lower ECAM Display Units (DU) only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(3) Start the engine (Normal Automatic Start) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-827).
(a) Let the engine become stable at the minimum idle position for five minutes.
(4) Make sure that IDG 1(2) operates correctly.
(a) On the ECAM control panel, push the ELEC key to get access to the "ELEC" page:
Subtask 24-21-62-865-052-A (1) Remove the warning notice(s).
(2) Do the Electronic Instrument System (EIS) start procedure (upper and lower ECAM Display Units (DU) only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(3) Start the engine (Normal Automatic Start) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-827).
(a) Let the engine become stable at the minimum idle position for five minutes.
(4) Make sure that IDG 1(2) operates correctly.
(a) On the ECAM control panel, push the ELEC key to get access to the "ELEC" page:
- Make sure that the voltage of IDG 1(2) is 115VAC.
- Make sure that the frequency of IDG 1(2) is 400Hz (+/- 5Hz).
E. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
