1. Reason for the Job
This procedure gives the instructions necessary to do:
  • The preservation of the IDG off-wing and on-wing procedures when you put the aircraft into storage
  • The depreservation of the IDG off-wing and on-wing procedures when you operate the aircraft again after a storage period.
The preservation of the IDG prevents corrosion and deterioration, thus it is necessary to put it into:
  • Storage for a period of less than six months
  • Storage for a period of more than six months
  • A storage container.
The preservation procedure will give maximum protection to the IDG. You must do it in clean and dry conditions.
