Removal of the Handset/Cradle
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU REMOVE THIS EQUIPMENT, MAKE SURE THAT THE SYSTEM IS DE-ENERGIZED. IF YOU REMOVE THIS EQUIPMENT WHILE THE SYSTEM IS ENERGIZED, YOU CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE SYSTEM.
CAUTION:
OBEY THE ELECTROSTATIC-DISCHARGE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE ON OR NEAR DEVICES THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
DO NOT TOUCH THE CONNECTOR PINS OR OTHER CONDUCTORS ON THE COMPONENT DURING THE PROCEDURE. IF YOU TOUCH THESE CONDUCTORS, ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO COMPONENT.
NOTE: The procedure for the cockpit handset/cradle is the same as the procedure for the cabin handset/cradle.
NOTE: The handset cradles have a handset cradle cover and a handset cradle mounting.

A. Removal of the Handset/Cradle
(1) Lift the handset (7) from the handset cradle cover (4).
(2) Remove the screws (6) with the washers (5).
(3) Remove the handset cradle cover (4).
(4) Remove and discard the cable tie (9).
(5) Carefully pull the cable (8) and the electrical connector (10) from the cradle mounting (1).
(6) Release the spring latches (11) and carefully disconnect the electrical connector (10).
(7) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(8) Remove the screws (3), the washers (2) and the handset cradle mounting (1).
Subtask 23-73-44-020-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Lift the handset (7) from the handset cradle cover (4).
(2) Remove the screws (6) with the washers (5).
(3) Remove the handset cradle cover (4).
(4) Remove and discard the cable tie (9).
(5) Carefully pull the cable (8) and the electrical connector (10) from the cradle mounting (1).
(6) Release the spring latches (11) and carefully disconnect the electrical connector (10).
(7) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(8) Remove the screws (3), the washers (2) and the handset cradle mounting (1).
A. Removal of the Handset/Cradle
(1) Lift the handset (9) from the handset cradle cover (1).
(2) Remove the screws (10) and the washers (11).
(3) Remove the handset cradle cover (1).
(4) Remove and discard the cable ties (2).
(5) Release the spring latches (5) and carefully disconnect the electrical connector (4).
(6) Carefully remove the cable (6) and the connector (4).
(7) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(8) Remove the screws (8), the washers (7) and the handset cradle mounting (3).
Subtask 23-73-44-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Lift the handset (9) from the handset cradle cover (1).
(2) Remove the screws (10) and the washers (11).
(3) Remove the handset cradle cover (1).
(4) Remove and discard the cable ties (2).
(5) Release the spring latches (5) and carefully disconnect the electrical connector (4).
(6) Carefully remove the cable (6) and the connector (4).
(7) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(8) Remove the screws (8), the washers (7) and the handset cradle mounting (3).
B. Remove the Handset Coiled Cord
(1) Remove the handset coiled cord (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-44-000-002).
