3. Job Set-up

A. Get Access
   (1) Put on a safety harness:
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH IT TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
     (a) Put and attach a 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY before you start work in the work area.
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 6M (20 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at zone 322.
   (3) Make sure that access panels 321AL and 322AL are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-45-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 55-32-11-000-001).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 8M (26 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at Zone 322.
   (2) Make sure that the access panels 321AL and 322AL are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-45-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 55-32-11-000-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 23-11-11-910-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
  • FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
  • GET MEDICAL AID.
   (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
NOTE: The antenna mounting screws give electrical bonding between the antenna and the fuselage structure.
   (2) Do a check of the electrical bonding between antenna and the fuselage structure (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-720-005).
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to all the screws.

A. Preparation for Installation
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
  • FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
  • GET MEDICAL AID.
   (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
NOTE: The antenna mounting screws give electrical bonding between the antenna and the fuselage structure.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to all the screws.

B. Installation of the HF Antenna
   (1) Put the antenna (1) on the antenna supports (6) and install with the screws (4) and the washers (5).
   (2) Connect the feedline (2) to the antenna (1) with the cap nut (3).
   (3) Apply the Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to all the heads of the screws (4).
   (4) Examine the antenna assembly for the condition of the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Oily Film System (Material No.12ABE2) layer. Apply a new layer if necessary.
   (5) Do a check of the electrical bonding of the HF system (Ref. AMM TASK 23-11-00-200-001).

B. Installation of the HF Antenna
   (1) Put the antenna (1) on the antenna supports (6) and install with the screws (4) and the washers (5).
   (2) Connect the feedlines (2) and (7) to the antenna (1) with the cap nuts (3).
   (3) Apply the Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to all the heads of the screws (4).
   (4) Examine the antenna assembly for the condition of the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Oily Film System (Material No.12ABE2) layer. Apply a new layer if necessary.
   (5) Do a check of the electrical bonding of the HF system (Ref. AMM TASK 23-11-00-200-001).

B. Installation of the HF Antenna
   (1) Put the antenna (1) on the antenna supports (6) and install with the screws (4) and the washers (5).
   (2) Connect the feedline (2) to the antenna (1) with the cap nut (3).
   (3) Apply the Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to all the screw heads.
   (4) Examine the antenna assembly for the condition of the moisture-removing oil layer, Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Oily Film System (Material No.12ABE2) . Apply a new layer if necessary.

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
