Removal of the Air-Inlet Flap Actuator
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT AIR IS NOT SUPPLIED TO THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM FROM THE MAIN ENGINE, THE APU OR A GROUND SOURCE.
HOT COMPRESSED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
NOTE: The procedure is the same for the air-inlet flap actuator 8HH and 28HH.

C. Safety Precautions
(1) On the panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the APU BLEED and the ENG BLEED/1(2) pushbutton switches are released.
(b) Put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to operate these pushbutton switches.
(2) On the HP ground connector put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to supply the ground air.
Subtask 21-61-51-010-050-A (1) On the panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the APU BLEED and the ENG BLEED/1(2) pushbutton switches are released.
(b) Put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to operate these pushbutton switches.
(2) On the HP ground connector put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to supply the ground air.
D. Get Access
(1) Remove the access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-002).

4. Procedure(1) Remove the access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-002).

A. Removal of the Air-Inlet Flap Actuator
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Remove the nut (8), the washer (7) and the screw (2).
(6) Hold the air-inlet flap actuator (9) and remove:
(8) Do the inspection of the air-inlet-flap mechanism - in-service wear-limits (Ref. AMM TASK 21-61-51-200-003).
(9) Measure dimension "C" and record it (Ref. AMM TASK 21-61-51-820-001).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Disconnect the electrical connector (1). (2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Remove the nut (8), the washer (7) and the screw (2).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S) IS(ARE) DISCONNECTED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BONDING STRAP(S).
(4) Disconnect the bonding strap (3).WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(5) Remove and discard the cotter pin (5). (6) Hold the air-inlet flap actuator (9) and remove:
- The nut (6), the washer (4) and the bolt (16)
- The nut (10), washer (11), bolt (14) and sleeve (13).
(8) Do the inspection of the air-inlet-flap mechanism - in-service wear-limits (Ref. AMM TASK 21-61-51-200-003).
(9) Measure dimension "C" and record it (Ref. AMM TASK 21-61-51-820-001).
