Removal of the Air Conditioning Pack
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT AIR IS NOT SUPPLIED TO THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM FROM THE MAIN ENGINE, THE APU OR A GROUND SOURCE.
HOT COMPRESSED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE COMPONENT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY
COOL TO PREVENT BURNS.
NOTE: The procedure is the same for the air conditioning pack 10HM (11HM)

A. Removal of the Cross Beam and the Duct Connectors
(1) Remove the quick release pins (13) and (14) and the cross beam (11).
(2) Remove the clamp (9) and disconnect the sleeve (10).
(3) Remove the clamp (6) and disconnect the bellows (7).
(4) Remove the clamp (2) and disconnect the bellows (3).
(5) Remove the clamp (36).
(6) Remove the clamp (30) and move the sleeve (31) on the duct flange (43) (away from the air conditioning pack (4)).
(7) Remove the clamp (34) and move the duct (33) and the sleeve (32) to the air conditioning pack (4).
Subtask 21-52-41-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the quick release pins (13) and (14) and the cross beam (11).
(2) Remove the clamp (9) and disconnect the sleeve (10).
(3) Remove the clamp (6) and disconnect the bellows (7).

(5) Remove the clamp (36).
(6) Remove the clamp (30) and move the sleeve (31) on the duct flange (43) (away from the air conditioning pack (4)).
(7) Remove the clamp (34) and move the duct (33) and the sleeve (32) to the air conditioning pack (4).
A. Removal of the Cross Beam and the Duct Connectors
(1) Remove the quick release pins (13) and (14) and the cross beam (11).
(2) Remove the clamp (9) and disconnect the sleeve (10).
(3) Remove the clamp (6) and disconnect the bellows (7).
(4) Remove the clamp (2) and disconnect the bellows (3).
(5) Remove the clamp (30) and move the sleeve (31) on the duct flange (43) (away from the air conditioning pack (4)).
(6) Remove the clamp (34) and move the duct (33) and the sleeve (32) to the air conditioning pack (4).
Subtask 21-52-41-020-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the quick release pins (13) and (14) and the cross beam (11).
(2) Remove the clamp (9) and disconnect the sleeve (10).
(3) Remove the clamp (6) and disconnect the bellows (7).
(4) Remove the clamp (2) and disconnect the bellows (3).
(5) Remove the clamp (30) and move the sleeve (31) on the duct flange (43) (away from the air conditioning pack (4)).
(6) Remove the clamp (34) and move the duct (33) and the sleeve (32) to the air conditioning pack (4).
A. Removal of the Cross Beam and the Duct Connectors
(1) Remove the quick release pins (13) and (14) and the cross beam (11).
(2) Remove the clamp (9) and disconnect the sleeve (10).
(3) Remove the clamp (6) and disconnect the bellow (7).
(4) Remove the clamp (2) and disconnect the bellow (3).
(5) Remove the clamp (30) and move the sleeve (31) on the duct flange (35) (away from the air conditioning pack (4)).
(6) Remove the clamp (34) and move the duct (33) and the sleeve (32) to the air conditioning pack (4).
(7) For the left air-conditioning pack (10HM):
(a) Do not remove the seals from the duct ends.
(b) Remove the clamps (43) and the sleeves (42).
(c) Remove the nuts (50) and the washers (49).
(d) Hold the ducts (44) and (45) and the bonding strap (47) to remove the screws (46) and the washers (40).
(e) Remove the ducts (44) and (45) and the bonding straps (47) and (48).
(f) Remove and discard the seals (51).
Subtask 21-52-41-020-050-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the quick release pins (13) and (14) and the cross beam (11).
(2) Remove the clamp (9) and disconnect the sleeve (10).
(3) Remove the clamp (6) and disconnect the bellow (7).
(4) Remove the clamp (2) and disconnect the bellow (3).
(5) Remove the clamp (30) and move the sleeve (31) on the duct flange (35) (away from the air conditioning pack (4)).
(6) Remove the clamp (34) and move the duct (33) and the sleeve (32) to the air conditioning pack (4).
(7) For the left air-conditioning pack (10HM):
(a) Do not remove the seals from the duct ends.
(b) Remove the clamps (43) and the sleeves (42).
(c) Remove the nuts (50) and the washers (49).
(d) Hold the ducts (44) and (45) and the bonding strap (47) to remove the screws (46) and the washers (40).
(e) Remove the ducts (44) and (45) and the bonding straps (47) and (48).
(f) Remove and discard the seals (51).
A. Removal of the Cross Beam and the Duct Connections
(1) Remove the quick-release pins (13) and (14) and the cross beam (11).
(2) Remove the clamp (9) and disconnect the sleeve (10).
(3) Remove the clamps (6) and (53) and disconnect the bellow (7).
(4) Remove the clamp (2) and disconnect the bellow of the air conditioning pack (4).
(5) Remove the clamp (30) and move the sleeve (31) to the duct flange (35).
(6) Remove the clamp (34) and move the duct (33) and the sleeve (32) from the air conditioning pack (4).
(7) Do the steps that follow for the left air-conditioning pack (10HM):
(a) Do not remove the seals from the duct ends.
(b) Remove the clamps (43) and the sleeves (42).
(c) Remove the seals (141) and discard them.
(d) Remove the nuts (50) and the washers (49).
(e) Hold the ducts (44) and (45) and the bonding strap (47), and remove the screws (46) the washers (40) and the heat shield (140).
(f) Remove the bonding strap (47) from the ducts (44) and (45).
(g) Disconnect the bonding strap (48) from the duct (45).
(h) Remove the ducts (44) and (45).
(i) Remove the seals (51) and discard them.
Subtask 21-52-41-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the quick-release pins (13) and (14) and the cross beam (11).
(2) Remove the clamp (9) and disconnect the sleeve (10).
(3) Remove the clamps (6) and (53) and disconnect the bellow (7).
(4) Remove the clamp (2) and disconnect the bellow of the air conditioning pack (4).
(5) Remove the clamp (30) and move the sleeve (31) to the duct flange (35).
(6) Remove the clamp (34) and move the duct (33) and the sleeve (32) from the air conditioning pack (4).
(7) Do the steps that follow for the left air-conditioning pack (10HM):
(a) Do not remove the seals from the duct ends.
(b) Remove the clamps (43) and the sleeves (42).
(c) Remove the seals (141) and discard them.
(d) Remove the nuts (50) and the washers (49).
(e) Hold the ducts (44) and (45) and the bonding strap (47), and remove the screws (46) the washers (40) and the heat shield (140).
(f) Remove the bonding strap (47) from the ducts (44) and (45).
(g) Disconnect the bonding strap (48) from the duct (45).
(h) Remove the ducts (44) and (45).
(i) Remove the seals (51) and discard them.
B. Disconnection of the Electrical and Sense Line Connectors
(1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (52), (53), (56), (59), (62) and (66).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Disconnect the sense lines (57) and (64).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 21-52-41-020-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (52), (53), (56), (59), (62) and (66).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Disconnect the sense lines (57) and (64).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
B. Disconnection of the Electrical and Sense Line Connectors
(1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (52), (53), (56), (59), (62), (66) and (67).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Disconnect the sense lines (57) and (64).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 21-52-41-020-051-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (52), (53), (56), (59), (62), (66) and (67).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Disconnect the sense lines (57) and (64).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
B. Disconnection of the Electrical and Sense Line Connectors
(1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (52), (53), (55) and (59).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Disconnect the sense lines (57) and (61).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 21-52-41-020-051-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (52), (53), (55) and (59).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Disconnect the sense lines (57) and (61).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
B. Disconnection of the Electrical and Sense Line Connectors
(1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (52), (53), (55) and (59).
(2) For the left air conditioning pack (10HM):

(5) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 21-52-41-020-052-A (1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (52), (53), (55) and (59).
(2) For the left air conditioning pack (10HM):
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (63), (65) and (67).
(4) Disconnect the sense lines (57) and (61).
(5) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
C. Removal of the Air Conditioning Pack
(1) Remove the nut (86), the washer (85), the screw (84) and disconnect the bonding straps (87) (if installed) and (88).
(2) Remove the nuts (104), the washers (103), the screws (101) and disconnect the bonding straps (102).
1 Remove the nuts (99), the washers (100), the bolts (96), (where fitted the washers (97)), and the bushes (98).
2 Disconnect the tie rods in this order:- (71), (72), (73), (74), (75), (77), (81), (78), (79), (83), (80) and (82).
3 Remove the nut (91), the washer (92), the bolt (89), (where fitted the washer (95)), and the bush (94).
(b) Carefully remove the air conditioning pack from the aircraft.
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 21-52-41-020-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the nut (86), the washer (85), the screw (84) and disconnect the bonding straps (87) (if installed) and (88).
(2) Remove the nuts (104), the washers (103), the screws (101) and disconnect the bonding straps (102).
WARNING:
SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Remove the air conditioning pack: NOTE: The air conditioning pack weighs approx. 79 kg (180 lb).
You must take care not to bend or twist the air conditioning pack as this can cause damage to the component.
The air conditioning pack must be put on an approbriate support stand when you remove it from the aircraft.
(a) Hold the air conditioning pack and: You must take care not to bend or twist the air conditioning pack as this can cause damage to the component.

1 Remove the nuts (99), the washers (100), the bolts (96), (where fitted the washers (97)), and the bushes (98).
2 Disconnect the tie rods in this order:- (71), (72), (73), (74), (75), (77), (81), (78), (79), (83), (80) and (82).
3 Remove the nut (91), the washer (92), the bolt (89), (where fitted the washer (95)), and the bush (94).
(b) Carefully remove the air conditioning pack from the aircraft.
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
D. Removal of the Attached Components
(1) Remove the duct (33) from the sleeve (32).
(2) Remove the sleeve (31) from the aircraft and the sleeve (32) from the heat exchanger unit (4).
(3) For the LEFT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (42) from the sleeve (31).
(4) For the RIGHT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (142) from the sleeve (31).
(5) For the LEFT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (39) and (40), (alternative (41)), from the sleeve (32).
(6) For the RIGHT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (139) and (140), (alternative (141)), from the sleeve (32).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(8) Remove the nut (126), the washer (125), the bonding strap (88) and the screw (123).
(9) Remove the nuts (129), the washers (128), the screws (121), the seals (122) and (124) and the inlet plenum (127).
(10) Put a protective cover on the cooling elements of the air conditioning pack (4).
(11) If installed: Remove the nut (130), the washer (131), the bonding strap (87) and the screw (132).
(12) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 21-52-41-020-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the duct (33) from the sleeve (32).
(2) Remove the sleeve (31) from the aircraft and the sleeve (32) from the heat exchanger unit (4).
(3) For the LEFT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (42) from the sleeve (31).
(4) For the RIGHT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (142) from the sleeve (31).
(5) For the LEFT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (39) and (40), (alternative (41)), from the sleeve (32).
(6) For the RIGHT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (139) and (140), (alternative (141)), from the sleeve (32).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(8) Remove the nut (126), the washer (125), the bonding strap (88) and the screw (123).
(9) Remove the nuts (129), the washers (128), the screws (121), the seals (122) and (124) and the inlet plenum (127).
(10) Put a protective cover on the cooling elements of the air conditioning pack (4).
(11) If installed: Remove the nut (130), the washer (131), the bonding strap (87) and the screw (132).
(12) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
D. Removal of the Attached Components
(1) Remove the duct (33) from the sleeve (32).
(2) Remove the sleeve (31) from the aircraft and the sleeve (32) from the heat exchanger unit (4).
(3) For the LEFT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (38) from the sleeve (31).
(4) For the RIGHT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (138) from the sleeve (31).
(5) For the LEFT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (35) and (36), (alternative (37)), from the sleeve (32).
(6) For the RIGHT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (135) and (136), (alternative (137)), from the sleeve (32).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(8) Remove the nut (126), the washer (125), the bonding strap (88) and the screw (123).
(9) Remove the nuts (129), the washers (128), the screws (121), the seals (122) and (124) and the inlet plenum (127).
(10) Put a protective cover on the cooling elements of the air conditioning pack (4).
(11) If installed: Remove the nut (130), the washer (131), the bonding strap (87) and the screw (132).
(12) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 21-52-41-020-053-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the duct (33) from the sleeve (32).
(2) Remove the sleeve (31) from the aircraft and the sleeve (32) from the heat exchanger unit (4).
(3) For the LEFT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (38) from the sleeve (31).
(4) For the RIGHT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (138) from the sleeve (31).
(5) For the LEFT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (35) and (36), (alternative (37)), from the sleeve (32).
(6) For the RIGHT air conditioning pack remove and discard the seals (135) and (136), (alternative (137)), from the sleeve (32).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(8) Remove the nut (126), the washer (125), the bonding strap (88) and the screw (123).
(9) Remove the nuts (129), the washers (128), the screws (121), the seals (122) and (124) and the inlet plenum (127).
(10) Put a protective cover on the cooling elements of the air conditioning pack (4).
(11) If installed: Remove the nut (130), the washer (131), the bonding strap (87) and the screw (132).
(12) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
D. Removal of the Attached Components
(1) Remove the duct (33) from the sleeve (32).
(2) Remove the sleeve (31) from the aircraft and the sleeve (32) from the heat exchanger unit (4).
(3) For the left air conditioning pack (10HM):

(a) Remove the nut (126), the washer (125), the bonding strap (88) and the screw (123).
(b) Remove the nuts (129), the washers (128), the screws (121), the seals (122) and (124) and the inlet plenum (127).
(c) Put a protective cover on the cooling elements of the air conditioning pack (4).
(9) For the left air conditioning pack (10HM):
(11) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 21-52-41-020-054-A (1) Remove the duct (33) from the sleeve (32).
(2) Remove the sleeve (31) from the aircraft and the sleeve (32) from the heat exchanger unit (4).
(3) For the left air conditioning pack (10HM):
- Remove and discard the seals (39) from the sleeve (31).
- Remove and discard the seals (139) from the sleeve (31).
- Remove and discard the seals (36) and (37), (alternative (38)), from the sleeve (32).
- Remove and discard the seals (136) and (137), (alternative (138)), from the sleeve (32).
(8) For the right air conditioning pack (11HM):
(a) Remove the nut (126), the washer (125), the bonding strap (88) and the screw (123).
(b) Remove the nuts (129), the washers (128), the screws (121), the seals (122) and (124) and the inlet plenum (127).
(c) Put a protective cover on the cooling elements of the air conditioning pack (4).
(9) For the left air conditioning pack (10HM):
- Remove the temperature control module (Ref. AMM TASK 21-58-54-000-001).
(11) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
E. Removal of the Attachment Components
(1) Remove the nuts (99), the washers (100), the bolts (96), if fitted the washers (97), the bushings (98) and the support rods (71), (72a) and (72b), (73), (74), (75), (77), (78), (79), (80), (81), (82) and (83).
(3) Do the inspection of the components for in-service wear (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-41-200-001).
(1) Remove the nuts (99), the washers (100), the bolts (96), if fitted the washers (97), the bushings (98) and the support rods (71), (72a) and (72b), (73), (74), (75), (77), (78), (79), (80), (81), (82) and (83).
NOTE: Identify the support rods for correct position in the installation procedure.
(2) Remove the nut (2), the washer (1) the bolt (3) and disconnect the support rods (72a) and (72b). (3) Do the inspection of the components for in-service wear (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-41-200-001).
