A. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable passenger/crew door (referred to as door).
(2) Open the applicable door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(3) Do the special precautions before work on the applicable door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
(4) Remove the applicable door linings:
(a) For the left side:
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable passenger/crew door (referred to as door).
(2) Open the applicable door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(3) Do the special precautions before work on the applicable door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
(4) Remove the applicable door linings:
(a) For the left side:
- 831AZ, 831BZ, 831CZ, 831DZ and 831EZ (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-001).
- 832AZ, 832BZ, 832CZ, 832DZ and 832EZ (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-002).
- 841AZ, 841BZ, 841CZ, 841DZ and 841EZ (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-001).
- 842AZ, 842BZ, 842CZ, 842DZ and 842EZ (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-002).

A. Lubrication of the Safety-Pin Guide Fitting and Door Arming/Disarming Mechanism
(3) Make sure that the bushes of the safety-pin guide fitting (1) are in the correct position after the lubrication procedure.
(4) Lubricate the flexible control (6) as follows:
(a) Loosen the lower seal nut (7) by a minimum of three turns.
(b) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the upper grease fitting of the flexible control (6).

(d) Loosen the upper seal nut (8) by a minimum of three turns.
(e) Make sure that you can see the grease at the holes of the upper seal nut (8). If not, apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the upper grease fitting of the flexible control (6).

(5) Remove the unwanted grease with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

USE ONLY THE GREASES WHICH ARE GIVEN IN THE PROCEDURE. BUT DO NOT MIX THESE DIFFERENT TYPES OF GREASE. IF YOU MIX THEM, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE A HIGH-PRESSURE GREASE-GUN. HIGH-PRESSURE LUBRICATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS.
(1) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) with a GUN - GREASE to the grease fitting of the components that follow: - The safety-pin guide fitting (1)
- The spring rod of the slide control handle (2)
- The telescopic rod of the slide arming mechanism (3)
- The hook of the interlock mechanism (4).
NOTE: You must use the correct type of grease. If you use lithium type grease as an alternative to the clay type grease, you must remove all the clay type grease from the component.
(2) Apply a layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the spring of the escape-slide control mechanism (5). (3) Make sure that the bushes of the safety-pin guide fitting (1) are in the correct position after the lubrication procedure.
(4) Lubricate the flexible control (6) as follows:
(a) Loosen the lower seal nut (7) by a minimum of three turns.
(b) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the upper grease fitting of the flexible control (6).
NOTE: Use of a high pressure grease gun is not permitted.
You must operate the GUN - GREASE until the new grease is seen at the holes of the lower seal nut (7).
(c) TORQUE the lower seal nut (7) to between 0.44 and 0.36 m.daN (38.94 and 31.86 lbf.in ) You must operate the GUN - GREASE until the new grease is seen at the holes of the lower seal nut (7).
. (d) Loosen the upper seal nut (8) by a minimum of three turns.
(e) Make sure that you can see the grease at the holes of the upper seal nut (8). If not, apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the upper grease fitting of the flexible control (6).
NOTE: You must operate the GUN - GREASE until the new grease is seen at the holes of the upper seal nut (8).
(f) TORQUE the upper seal nut (8) to between 0.44 and 0.36 m.daN (38.94 and 31.86 lbf.in )
. (5) Remove the unwanted grease with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

(e) Make sure that you can see the grease at the holes of the upper seal nut (8). If not, apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the upper grease fitting of the flexible control (6).

(5) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) with a BRUSH - BRISTLED to the spring of the girt bar trigger.
(6) Remove the unwanted grease with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
5. Close-upCAUTION:

(6) Remove the unwanted grease with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

A. Close Access
(1) If removed, install the door insulations.
(2) Install the applicable door linings:
(a) For the left side:
(4) Close the applicable door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(1) If removed, install the door insulations.
(2) Install the applicable door linings:
(a) For the left side:
- 831AZ, 831BZ, 831CZ, 831DZ and 831EZ (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-400-001).
- 832AZ, 832BZ, 832CZ, 832DZ and 832EZ (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-400-002).
- 841AZ, 841BZ, 841CZ, 841DZ and 841EZ (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-400-001).
- 842AZ, 842BZ, 842CZ, 842DZ and 842EZ (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-400-002).
(4) Close the applicable door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
