GENERAL VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE FWD AND AFT OVERWING EMERGENCY EXITS (INCLUDING DOOR SURROUND ON FUSELAGE AND DOOR SEALS) (EWIS).

NOTE: This is an EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection System) procedure. EWIS is defined in ESPM 20-33-11.

Subtask 05-28-30-010-070-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Get Access
(1) Do the special precautions before you work on the offwing escape-slide systems (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 831 ( 841) or 832 ( 842).
(3) Open passenger/crew door 831 ( 841) or 832 ( 842) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(4) Open emergency exit doors 833 ( 843) and 834 ( 844) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
(5) Remove emergency-exit door panels 833AZ ( 843AZ), 833BZ ( 843BZ), 834AZ ( 844AZ) and 834BZ ( 844BZ) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-803).
(6) Lift the insulation blanket.

4. Procedure
Subtask 05-28-30-210-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Inspection

Forward and Aft Overwing Emergency-Exits ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Do a general visual inspection of the forward and aft overwing emergency-exits (zones 833 (843) and 834 (844)). This inspection includes the door surround on fuselage and the door seals.
(2) Make sure that there are no signs of corrosion, cracks or damage.
(3) Make sure that all the installations are correctly attached.

5. Close-up
Subtask 05-28-30-410-070-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Put the insulation blanket back in position.
(3) Install emergency-exit door panels 833AZ ( 843AZ), 833BZ ( 843BZ), 834AZ ( 844AZ) and 834BZ ( 844BZ) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-803).
(4) Close emergency exit doors 833 ( 843) and 834 ( 844) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
(5) Close passenger/crew door 831 ( 841) or 832 ( 842) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(6) Do the special precautions after you work on the offwing escape-slide system (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-081-001).
(7) Remove the access platform(s).
