B. Test
During aircraft operations on the ground and in flight, it is possible for fuel to get into the vent/surge-tank. If this occurs during normal (serviceable) operation the jet pump(68QM) will let the fuel move back into the related wing-tank.
If the jet pump become unserviceable, fuel can collect in the related vent/surge-tank. The collected fuel quantity will increase (cumulatively in separate, successive additions) until the status of the related sensor 28QJ2 changes from dry to wet.
This can cause the two related results that follow:
(2) Make sure that the C/Bs 1QL and 2QL are closed.
(5) Examine the FLSS STATUS page for the message 284616 R SURGE SENSOR 28QJ2:
(a) If the message:
(7) Do the Operational Test of the Main Transfer Control System AMM 28-26-00-710-001.
Subtask 28-26-00-710-058-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL During aircraft operations on the ground and in flight, it is possible for fuel to get into the vent/surge-tank. If this occurs during normal (serviceable) operation the jet pump(68QM) will let the fuel move back into the related wing-tank.

(1) If the FAULT legend of the P/BSW-6QL comes on, set the P/BSW to OFF (released out) to prevent a possible fuel spill. (2) Make sure that the C/Bs 1QL and 2QL are closed.
NOTE: The 28VDC supplies related to this procedure are as follows:
(3) Read: - C/B-1QL supplies the FAULT indication circuit in the P/BSW-FUEL/CTR TK/R XFR (6QL).
- C/B-2QL supplies the level sensor 28QJ2 channel in the FLSCU-2 (9QJ) and the actuator control valve of jet pump 2 (center-tank, right-side transfer)
- the MAINTENANCE NOTICE, MAIN TRANSFER SYSTEM - SPURIOUS L(R) WING TANK OVERFLOW WARNING (Ref. P. Block 301).
(5) Examine the FLSS STATUS page for the message 284616 R SURGE SENSOR 28QJ2:
(a) If the message:
- is shown, do step (6) and then step (7)
- is not shown, do step (7).
(7) Do the Operational Test of the Main Transfer Control System AMM 28-26-00-710-001.
- if a new fault occurs (or shows during the Operational Test) refer to Troubleshooting, Fault Symptoms with the new related fault symptom(s) to find the applicable TSM procedure number(s).
- if the test operates as specified, do the steps given in Para. 4.A.
B. Test

This can cause the two related results that follow:

4. Fault IsolationDuring aircraft operations on the ground and in flight, it is possible for fuel to get into the vent/surge-tank. If this occurs during normal (serviceable) operation the jet pump (66QM) will let the fuel move back into the related wing-tank.
If the jet pump (66QM) become unserviceable, fuel can collect in the related vent/surge-tank. The collected fuel quantity will increase (cumulatively in separate, successive additions) until the status of the related sensor 28QJ1 changes from dry to wet.
This can cause the two related results that follow:
- the ECAM warning 'FUEL L WING TK OVERFLOW' will be given, if in an applicable flight phase
- the P/BSW-FUEL/CTR TK/L XFR (5QL) FAULT legend will light, if it was set to the on (pushed in) position.
In the left wing it can also cause the fuel level to increase until it is above the level of the center-tank vent (duct/outlet-pipe at RIB22). Gravity can then cause fuel flow through the center-tank vent and into the center tank (Ref. TSM TASK 28-12-00-810-801).

(1) If the FAULT legend of the P/BSW-5QL comes on, set the P/BSW to OFF (released out) to prevent a possible fuel spill. (2) Make sure that the C/Bs 1QL and 2QL are closed.
NOTE: The 28VDC supplies related to this procedure are as follows:
(3) Do the Functional (BITE) Test of the FLSS AMM 28-46-00-740-001. - C/B-1QL supplies the level sensor 28QJ1 channel in the FLSCU-1 (7QJ) and the actuator control valve of jet pump 1 (center-tank, left-side transfer)
- C/B-2QL supplies the FAULT indication circuit in the P/BSW-FUEL/CTR TK/L XFR (5QL).
(4) Examine the FLSS STATUS page for the message 284616 L SURGE SENSOR 28QJ1:
(a) If the message:
- is shown, do step (5) and then step (6)
- is not shown, do step (6).
(6) Do the Operational Test of the Main Transfer Control System AMM 28-26-00-710-001.
- if a new fault occurs (or shows during the Operational Test) refer to Troubleshooting, Fault Symptoms with the new related fault symptom(s) to find the applicable TSM procedure number(s)
- if the test operates as specified, do the steps given in Para. 4.A.
Subtask 28-26-00-810-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Procedure
(1) Get access to the right wing fuel-tank inboard side of Rib 22 AMM 28-12-00-200-001.
(2) Inspect the tank tank venting system AMM 28-12-00-200-001 and replace, if necessary, the items that follow:
(4) If the fault continues, do the Fault Isolation Procedures (in Para. 4.A.), of the TSM Tasks that follow:
(a)Transfer Control Valve 2 (Right) does not close - (Ref. TSM TASK 28-26-00-810-805).
(b) Main Transfer System Auto Control Failure - (Ref. TSM TASK 28-26-00-810-801).
(5) If the fault continues:
Subtask 28-26-00-810-058-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Get access to the right wing fuel-tank inboard side of Rib 22 AMM 28-12-00-200-001.
(2) Inspect the tank tank venting system AMM 28-12-00-200-001 and replace, if necessary, the items that follow:
- CLACK VALVE [215QM] and CLACK VALVE [217QM] AMM 28-11-42-000-002 and AMM 28-11-42-400-002.
(4) If the fault continues, do the Fault Isolation Procedures (in Para. 4.A.), of the TSM Tasks that follow:

(b) Main Transfer System Auto Control Failure - (Ref. TSM TASK 28-26-00-810-801).
(5) If the fault continues:
- Do the TSM Procedure (Ref. TSM TASK 28-21-00-810-849).

(2) Inspect the tank tank venting system AMM 28-12-00-200-001 replace, if necessary, the items that follow:

- the JET PUMP-WATER SCAVENGE, R WING TK [68QM] AMM 28-21-53-000-001 and AMM 28-21-53-400-001.
(4) If the fault continues, do the Fault Isolation Procedures (in Para. 4.A.), of the TSM Tasks that follow:
