A. Introduction
During normal operation of the ECAM, the FUEL - AUTO TRANSFER FAULT is a configuration warning.
The warning is set if the fuel distribution, for any reason, is as follows:
The warning is reset if the fuel distribution, for any reason, changes as follows:
The logic for this warning is contained in the FQIC 3QT and is:
The FQIC warning/FAULT logic output is transmitted as follows:
Subtask 28-26-00-710-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL During normal operation of the ECAM, the FUEL - AUTO TRANSFER FAULT is a configuration warning.
NOTE: This ECAM warning is only given in certain flight phases, and is controlled by the FWC (Ref. ESLD 01-28-405).
This warning function is set (activated) simultaneously with the FAULT legend on the P/BSW-FUEL/CTR TK/MODE SEL/AUTO (4QL). NOTE: The FAULT is only given with the P/BSW in the AUTO (in) position.
The above indications are given because the fuel load distribution is not correct or the fuel has not been used in the correct sequence. The warning is set if the fuel distribution, for any reason, is as follows:
- the left wing tank, less than 4950 kg (10913 lb) AND the center tank, more than 300 kg (660 lb)
- the right wing tank, less than 4950 kg (10913 lb) AND the center tank, more than 300 kg (660 lb).
The warning is reset if the fuel distribution, for any reason, changes as follows:
- the left wing tank, more than 5000 kg (11023 lb) OR the center tank, less than 250 kg (550 lb)
- the right wing tank, more than 5000 kg (11023 lb) OR the center tank, less than 250 kg (550 lb).
The logic for this warning is contained in the FQIC 3QT and is:
- set and reset immediately the specified conditions are correct
- inhibited during refuel.
The FQIC warning/FAULT logic output is transmitted as follows:
- on two (2) ARINC bus lines to the FWC (ECAM)
- on one (1) discrete signal line to the P/BSW-FUEL/CTR TK/MODE SEL/AUTO (4QL) FAULT legend.
B. Pre-requisite Test 1
(1) Examine the aircraft log and try to find the fuel configuration at the time of the original/repeat failure and compare it with the fuel configuration given in the introduction.
(a) If the warning/fault was given when the fuel load distribution:
Subtask 28-26-00-710-067-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Examine the aircraft log and try to find the fuel configuration at the time of the original/repeat failure and compare it with the fuel configuration given in the introduction.
