Installation of the Oil Debris Monitoring System (ODMS) Sensor

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 79-36-10-010-052-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
WARNING:
USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
Subtask 79-36-10-420-050-A A. Installation of the Oil Debris Monitoring System (ODMS) Sensor
(1) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(3) Lubricate the threads of the two captive screws of the ODMS sensor (1) and the new EIPC 79-36-10-01-080 O-RING (8) with the engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(4) Install the new O-ring (8) in the groove of the ODMS sensor (1).
(6) Install the two nuts (14) on the two captive screws of the ODMS sensor (1) to attach the ODMS sensor (1) to the air-oil separator (2) and tighten them with your hand.
(7) TORQUE the two captive screws of the ODMS sensor (1) to between 111.3 and 100.9 lbf.in (1.26 and 1.14 m.daN )

(8) Install the bolt (4) that attaches the clamp (6) and the ODMS sensor (1) to the bracket (7).
(9) TORQUE the bolt (4) to between 46.2 and 42.1 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.48 m.daN )
.
(10) Install the bolt (11) that attaches the clamp (9) and the ODMS sensor (1) to the bracket (10).
(11) TORQUE the bolt (11) to between 46.2 and 42.1 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.48 m.daN )
.
(12) Install the ODMS harness in the clip (5) along its routing.
(13) Connect the connector of the ODMS sensor (1) to the ODMS unit (12).
5. Close-up(1) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(3) Lubricate the threads of the two captive screws of the ODMS sensor (1) and the new EIPC 79-36-10-01-080 O-RING (8) with the engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(4) Install the new O-ring (8) in the groove of the ODMS sensor (1).
NOTE: The omniseal should not be disturbed.
(5) Install the ODMS sensor (1) on the air-oil separator (2). (6) Install the two nuts (14) on the two captive screws of the ODMS sensor (1) to attach the ODMS sensor (1) to the air-oil separator (2) and tighten them with your hand.
(7) TORQUE the two captive screws of the ODMS sensor (1) to between 111.3 and 100.9 lbf.in (1.26 and 1.14 m.daN )
. (8) Install the bolt (4) that attaches the clamp (6) and the ODMS sensor (1) to the bracket (7).
(9) TORQUE the bolt (4) to between 46.2 and 42.1 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.48 m.daN )
