3. Job Set-up

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

4. Procedure
Subtask 79-22-01-420-051-A
A. Installation of the C Seal Gaskets
   (1) Install all the C seal gaskets and the flange assy C seals between pipeline / pipeline interface as follows:
     (a) Remove CAP - BLANKING or PLUG - BLANKING from the tubes and the openings.
     (b) Installation of the flange assy C seal (7) and the flange assy C seal (13): 
       1 Install the new 72000109-220FLANGE ASSY C SEAL7 between the flanges of the oil tube (8) and the oil tube (2). 
       2 Attach the oil tube (8) to the oil tube (2) with the four bolts (9) and the four nuts (10).
       3 Tighten the four nuts (10) by hand. 
       4 Install the new 72000033-480FLANGE ASSY C SEAL13 between the flanges of the oil tube (2) and the oil tube (12). 
       5 Attach the oil tube (2) to the oil tube (12) with the four bolts (14) and the four nuts (11).
       6 Tighten the four nuts (11) by hand. 
       7 TORQUE the four nuts (10) in a crisscross sequence to between 91 and 85 lbf.in (1.03 and 0.96 m.daN ) T.
       8 TORQUE the four nuts (11) in a crisscross sequence to between 91 and 85 lbf.in (1.03 and 0.96 m.daN )

       9 TORQUE the nut (1) that attach the clamp (3) to between 46.2 and 41.8 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.47 m.daN )
T.
       10 TORQUE the bolt (5) that attach the clamp (6) to between 46.2 and 41.8 lbf.in (0.52 and 0.47 m.daN )
T.
     (c) Installation of the C seal gasket (17):
       1 Install the new 72000030-710C SEAL GASKET17 between the flanges of the oil tube (19) and the oil tube (16).
       2 Attach the oil tube (19) to the oil tube (16) with the four bolts (18) and the four nuts (15).
       3 TORQUE the four nuts (15) in a crisscross sequence  to between 91 and 85 lbf.in (1.03 and 0.96 m.daN )
T.
     (d) Installation of the flange assy C seal (22):
       1 Install the new 72000033-040FLANGE ASSY C SEAL22 between the flanges of the oil tube (24) and the oil tube (20).
       2 Attach the oil tube (24) to the oil tube (20) with the four bolts (23) and the four nuts (21).
       3 TORQUE the four nuts (21) in a crisscross sequence  to between 91 and 85 lbf.in (1.03 and 0.96 m.daN )

     (e) Installation of the flange assy C seal (27):
       1 Install the new 72000033-080FLANGE ASSY C SEAL27 between the flanges of the oil tube (28) and the oil tube (26).
       2 Attach the oil tube (28) to the oil tube (26) with the four bolts (25) and the four nuts (29).
       3 TORQUE the four nuts (29) in a crisscross sequence to between 91 and 85 lbf.in (1.03 and 0.96 m.daN )

     (f) Installation of the C seal gasket (33):
       1 Install the new 72000033-160C SEAL GASKET33 between the flanges of the oil tube (34) and the oil tube (32).
       2 Attach the oil tube (34) to the oil tube (32) with the four bolts (31) and the four nuts (30).
       3 TORQUE the four nuts (30) in a crisscross sequence to between 91 and 85 lbf.in (1.03 and 0.96 m.daN )
T.
WARNING: USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
     (g) Fill the oil tank (
Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-805).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
